Yep. I don’t see why this example keeps getting used over and over to illustrate how the press was left to run amuck unchecked. The guy got fired - rightfully so.

Except that one guy is part of a series in a list of racial aggression that started long before Meghan married into the family and judging by the reactions of the BRF - long after. Heaven help any of the Cambridge children who have a crush on anyone with a complexion darker than their Uncle Harry's.

Is Meghan holding Harry’s wearing a Nazi uniform to account or is her outrage selective?

The difference is that Harry has acknowledged and apologized for that behavior. He said in the interview that he has learned a lot about racism and bigotry, and that he's been trying to educated his family about it as well.

I don't get why people keep bringing up the Nazi uniform and other remarks as evidence of Harry being a racist when it's actually evidence of his self-awareness and the personal progress he's made.

The BBC reporter was immediately fired yet people keep carrying on about that as if the entire organization endorsed it. I don’t get why people keep bringing that up all the time either.

DP. I personally don’t get the whole narrative that people on here have. My understanding is that a lot of you feel that Harry was close to his family and then Meghan drove them apart. But during this period of closeness Harry was doing things like wearing Nazi uniforms to colonialism themed parties and yet none of his supposedly not racist family had an issue with that (consider also that William attend that same party with him). If Harry is a racist then so are the rest of them. And frankly just because someone is a racist doesn’t mean that they can’t make accurate points about other people being racist. Donald Trump is quite obviously a racist and even he has accurately identified racism a number of times. A broken clock is still right twice a day!

You don’t understand why people think wearing a Nazi uniform or calling people “raghead” is racist? We probably can’t help you if you’re struggling with that one.

It keeps coming up because Meghan claims she did not do any research on Harry. Disingenuous deflection in the interview. Her friends and even Piers Morgan (they used to be chummy) clued her in but she denies this. Funny how he got cancelled. This woman is toxic.
Anonymous
Piers Morgan needed to be cancelled because he’s terrible and he was really talking about Meghan an incessant amount. He works in showbiz. Surely she isn’t the first phony he has met.
Anonymous
Meghan had to deny any research on Harry because to admit that she had researched would also have revealed that she willingly and knowingly waltzed right into that family knowing their attitudes. She would not have her precious victim status to fall back on.

And Meghan chose to marry into that.

Exactly! Then she pulls the race card.

I watched more of the interview last night. I don't know how anyone believes anything said. Meghan is beyond phony. Hearing Prince Harry talk about how he got "cut off" made me break out my smallest violin. Oprah, who I usually find comes across as genuine, was acting the role of interviewer.

Contrary to what some of you seem to believe, you DON'T have to grin and bear being treated poorly. By the press? Sure. By the family? Hell no. No way. Not in MY family, let alone my in-laws. Many of you are ignoring the elephant in the room.

This isn't just about the press being meanies. Get real, please.

Exactly this.

Is it though? Moving to another continent and then trashing the family on Oprah doesn't exactly make them look like victims of the family. It makes them look the opposite.

Harry felt let down by Charles? Because Charles didn't support him leaving, "abdicating". Because when Harry told Charles that Meghan was reliving Diana's path to death? Because Charles wasn't sympathetic to that. That's not victim hood.

Meghan suffered from culture shock, including the culture of dealing with staff. And, like a teenager, she decided to run away. Okay. It was a hard situation. And duty was no reason for her to stay and work it out. So running away made sense to her. And it's not victim hood either.

But why should everyone support her in that?

No one was "trashing the family," stop being dramatic.

DP. Please. If I suggested on a major public platform that at least one member of your immediate family was a racist, you’d crap your pants. Don’t pretend that’s a nice or even neutral thing to say about your own family.

It is absolutely wild to me how people still can't seem to wrap their head around this:

Being racist or mistreating someone is A-Okay, but speaking out against said racism or mistreatment is some terrible sin? Your pearl-clutching Karens really have a twisted sense of logic that only fits your narrow, sheltered worldviews.

Where’s the evidence of racism? I don’t find H&M credible, so I’m not just gonna take their word for it.

Well, there’s the horrible stuff in the tabloids that many think she should have been prepared for and fail to see as racist. There was that lovely blackamoor brooch that many of you think is just jewelry. That alone would have been more than enough — particularly since there’s no indication that anyone in the family did or said anything about it. There’s also the very real possibility that many things have been said and done that none of us are privy to.
Curious though: What would you view as credible evidence of racism?

Oh, no, you see, these people don't think anything that doesn't involves the N word or outright physical violence could be racist. And even then, I mean, think of the poor souls who are racist! Will no one think of them?!

So a racist aunt is enough for you to make your DH quit his job, abandon his duty, and leave the country?

That doesn't make sense.

Why are you acting like that single incident was what set them off? It was one of many examples. Come on, it's not that difficult, unless you've lived an extremely sheltered existence and need everything spelled out for you.

For the record, I'm not a Meghan Stan or whatever the hell they call themselves. I just think the Meghan haters are a really odd looking bunch, with seemingly zero self-awareness.

Because racism is not why they left. It's only being used to attack the BRF by H&M.

Right, the aunt wears the black moor jewelry, there’s “concern” over the baby’s skin color and the BBC compares Archie to a monkey. The BBC is the equivalent of the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal in terms of prestige. But, sure no racism at all. Nothing to see here.

One reporter at the BBC made this remark and he was promptly fired. But do carry on with your outrage.

He is still getting paid to spew his putrid thoughts. He is with a podcast that people pay a subscription fee.

I've seen part (not all) of it. I don't know either. She's pretty to look at but so unbelievable and ridiculous.

She is very pretty- great makeup and her pregnancy gives her face a nice fullness. I also like her chicken coop. She is still a narcissist. She and her husband literally spent two hours complaining to Oprah. Two hours!! Trashing the in-laws on national tv? Whining about not getting a title for your son? Lying about when titles are given out (among other things)? Why couldn’t they have been gracious and just talked about their upcoming charity projects- all the lemon cakes and spotlights she wants to shine on things?

Oh shit, this is a weak argument. Plenty people enter into interracial marriages where there are family members who are racist ASF. Love has a funny way of making people disregard the hard stuff in the beginning. Eventually these people extricate themselves and children from these family members. Heck, on LSA women marry into toxic families of all stripes, and they eventually come on LSA preaching about how they do not allow their children near said grandparents, uncles, etc. They are so proud of themselves. However according to you, they married into that family and they should just accept it and deal with it.
