Yes but you do have hen dos and bridal parties. Don't act like Kate didn't have 3 major chances to welcome Meghan (not to mention be a representative of modern British conventions) and she missed all of them.

She doesn’t owe you anything, looney-tunes. And how do you know what private events they may have had?

Anything Kate does that might even be considered minimal effort is reported. It never would have gone unnoticed if she had done any of those three things.

And I get that you're protective over her but take a chill pill. Meghan has taken far more flack for much less.

Are you still hoping Meghan’s going to see your posts and reward her #1 fan girl?

No - anything kate does publicly is reported. You have no clue what went on behind closed doors - but from MM and Harry’s engagement interview where they single out Kate as being particularly amazing, to prince Charles walking MM down the aisle to the queen giving MM unprecedentedly rapid royal responsibilities - the family appear, at least publicly to be plenty welcoming.

And for those clamoring that the family should have stood up for MM when some of the nastier articles came out - I’m not sure why you were expecting that. They don’t even stand up for themselves when they get bad press. No one said a peep when they called Fergie the duchess of pork... which frankly is true bullying.

They stand up for themselves plenty.

William calling out his lawyers and complaining about his 'human rights' being violated after reports of cheating.

Kensington Palace issuing a notice that Kate does not use botox.

Prince Andrew doing a live national interview on BBC from Buckingham Palace refuting he slept with a 17-year-old.

William suing a French newspaper over Kate's nude photos.

And might I remind you that Buckingham Palace threatened a international AMERICAN media organization over their Prince Andrew allegations just last year.

The only thing they didn't do was stand-up for the biracial actress.

Pray do tell which article should Buckingham Palace have gone after, the Meghan holds her belly too much or the Avocado toast one?

Kate’s going to be Queen one day.

Meghan will be so sad she walked away.

I wish both beautiful women would have stuck together and been friends. But I am doubting that Meghan ever planned on staying. I forsee Harry wanting back in.

You ever consider that’s WHY Meghan left?

No support from the future King and Queen. Not a word.

All of them.

Just like they did with Kate’s Botox and fake hair ‘scandals’.

But really a blanket ‘back off’ would have done.

They did that after Camilla was pilloried for being a homewrecker of twenty years, after Sophie flashed her boobs in a public car and after Kate was photographed naked on vacation.

So to confirm, BP should have come out with statements daily that stated “The duchess does not hold her pregnant belly excessively, cut it out”, “The duchess does not eat avocado toast, cut it out”. Frankly, I am surprised she made it a year and a half if these were her expectations.

Anonymous wrote:You know what? I am a NP that lurks these threads from time to time. I guess there is a small pack of team Kate and team Meghan hens that have feuds on dcum, honestly I’ve never given a damn or been team anything .

I was thrilled and so excited when Kate was married, I watched the wedding and it was amazing. I loved seeing Meghan and Harry and following their unconventional story. I always liked both of them.

Hearing that they were leaving for Canada made me wonder if Meghan is dealing with a lot of difficulty, even during the wedding festivities when they would interview in the church, she looked so nervous I felt bad for her, but hoped she had support in general. However, from reading this thread ALONE (again I’m not all in the magazines or online entertainment news for the most part) I see a lot of salt thrown on Meghan. I don’t understand it. If she is dealing with millions of voices like yours, no wonder she is putting her sanity first. The press can be absolutely brutal. Monika Lewinsky had to go to another country to escape from her sins, and it really isn’t rhyme or reason to who the press attacks like a bone, and who they completely ignore.

Kate and Meghan are two completely different people not one better or worse than the other. But looking at how crappy everyone that supports Kate is towards Megan here makes me NOT like Kate’s supporters ... which in turn is making me start to not like Kate. In some twisted way, watching her demeaned and criticized and treated differently from everyone, bullied by everyone for being different, and Kate is just so perfect makes me like Meghan that much more! I found myself looking at a picture of Kate, and experiencing a growing feeling of unfairness for everyone doting on her. It made me look at the double standards in so many environments globally and stateside, and how unfair it is to treat people badly because they are different. It has made me grow more protective of the weaker person with a larger uphill climb (Meghan in this case). I guess I’m tired of hearing about everyone always talking shit about everyone else - politics, parents, isn’t there a way to be interested without hating? Or respect and observe without trying to intentionally tear down?

There are a ton of mean bullies commenting here. It’s truly very sad to see.

I hope everyone is able to settle into their vision for their family happily: both Kate and Meghan.

Hate breeds hate, just remember that. Love trumps hate.

There are many of us who were both Team Kate and Meghan. I woke up early to watch both weddings. People here deride Kate for being bland, happy, and a rule follower.

Meghan and Harry, on the other hand, have gone from one blunder to another. Their behavior has been appalling. For me, two things have stood out before this "quitting senior royal life fiasco"- the jet travel and the woe is me whining in Africa. Complaining about "not living" amidst such poverty and tragedy is absolutely disgusting. They made the tour about themselves, which is beyond selfish.

This stunt with stepping back as senior royals takes it to another level.

The excuses about the media treatment is a red herring. People who say - oh I don't blame her wanting to quit royal life are misled. They never wanted to quit royal life, they only wanted to quit the tedious parts of it, and make a fortune for themselves. What they really want to do is to monetize their roles as public servants and enrich themselves, gallivant as celebrities, while fully expecting the British public to pay for their security.

If you are okay with that behavior, then you have Meghan and Harry Derangement Syndrome.

Thank you for your post. I’ve never followed everything so closely, so again, this is all new perspective as I didn’t keep the front line seat after the wedding bells stopped ringing. I appreciate your broadening my perspective. You and another PP who I think responded right after you. That’s really sad to see, and I can understand why it would make a lot of people angry with her for manipulating such a powerful platform. I get it now.

A lot of the comments (during the rare times I lurk here) don’t speak to that — it’s always about her not being good enough, or being trash, or doing something the wrong way. So it just comes off as the same kind of spiteful/judgmental rhetoric. Thanks for upgrading the dialogue. And no, I do not approve of that behavior, in anyone.

LOL. Rose Hanbury and Kate both know that William has been sleeping with Rose. Rose's husband knows that he's been sleeping with Rose. Everybody knows that he's been sleeping with Rose.

That's not why Meghan left the country. Sheesh.

I didn't say it was. She left the country because William, many other members of the Court, the British media, and the British public are racists jerks.

I don’t know about Canada, but the USA is a poster child for racism, so I don’t know if coming this way will make much of a difference.

Please do tell us where the magical land of racial harmony is?

If the Crown season 9 does not include the blind and an actress as Lainey Lui.. I will be disappointed. Her decision to publish that blind was both inevitable (real royal juice is hard to come by!) and motivated by her previous dislike of the royals—maybe goes back to being Canadian, maybe goes back to dislike of white privilege (um hello Will! White and privileged) and people that don’t do anything with their privilege.

I was a looooong time reader, and I always loved that she covered royals when a lot of outlets just don’t, or they keep it glossy. I appreciated lainey’s smart takes, but her bias against will and Kate previous to this is at least 51-49 on a 100-pt scale.

Popcorn came out for me when she published the blind. But it goes into this whole mess. It was the beginning. Or maybe Kate hates everyone ha ha. Maybe she’s a fu;?$n’ introvert.

I’m rambling. I say the above about LL with love. Real fan, and I know someone on here is connected to here, or at least someone used to be here.

Huh?

Canadian Gossip blogger, closely connected to MM best friend’s husband Ben Mulroney, published several pieces of gossip on Kate Middleton.

I searched, this was one.

https://blindgossip.com/she-didnt-offer-a-ride/

Interesting. I never read that blind - it was before the engagement which is when I got interested.

Honestly, its a 'small' secret and Kate is/was kind of b*tch. This and other things just irks me. She refused to meet Meghan when they were dating, apparently after Meghan moved into Kensington Palace she didn't want her riding with her (which is fair - maybe if Meghan was photographed in the car it would have been seen as a HUGE sign of acceptance from Kate), but to also not throw Meghan an engagement party, bridal shower, or baby shower just reads grade A b*tch to me.

They do not throw baby showers over there which is why the press were appalled by Meghan’s outrageous one.

Not to mention that family members are not supposed to throw showers. Yes, I know this is routinely violated in the United States, but showers are seen as a request for gifts. Tacky when the mom or the sister or the sister-in-law hosts a party for this reason.

Agree. A word of support would have been nice. Just having the expectation is not so nice. So much easier to let go of all expectations...then you are never disappointed.

There have been certain statements here and elsewhere that M wasn't the easiest new Royal. Things like inappropriate clothes to certain events and umm, staff turnover.

Meghan didn't "leave." Per the website she and Harry made, they wanted to remain working royals, they just did not want to be "senior" royals anymore, and they wanted to live part time in Canada and make money for themselves. The Queen - said "sure' but you're not royals anymore.
