They should have simply reorganized the ROTA. Oh, you want to print racist stories about the newest member of the family? you’re out. It could have been done quietly and easily and it would have shown that the royal family expects basic journalistic ethics of its press team. This would have sent a strong message to the press and to the world. Their silence also spoke volumes. |

I don’t think that the reason the royal family did nothing was because they didn’t care. I think that Harry and Meghan didn’t ask them to help. Or H&M took matters into their own hands. The royal family has no experience with this exact problem so it might have required some planning and thought. I see no evidence that the Queen or Charles don’t have H&Ms best interest. The Royal family has a long line of ancestors who were ahead of their time wrt racial acceptance and tolerance.
The Prince Andrew thing was different. They had something serious to hide. They felt that they had no choice but to be aggressive with the press on that story. |
Well the other thing is that the courtiers frequently control access to top royals, especially the Queen AND were the sources for some of these negative stories. So not sure that Harry could just waltz in and ask granny for help. |
| Nothing that was printed was overtly racist. And please don’t cite the tweet that got the guy immediately fired. |
Queen told him that he had to work with his father (also imminently future king) and come up with a workable arrangement. He wasn’t getting what he wanted through those talks, so he tried to go above his father’s head. Initially Queen said yes to a visit, then was told this is no personal visit, Harry is looking to bypass Charles. Queen declined to meet him. He forced the issue publicly by publishing his wish list, knowing the Royals want scandals like this to go away quickly and would cave. He miscalculated. And yes he does have the Queen’s private number and they do communicate informally, he has said so himself. |
The Compton headline was overtly racist. Are you blind as well as racist? |
Yep, acting like a spoiled brat. Queen called his bluff though. |
Please link to a racist headline since their engagement. |
The British press stopped with the outright racist headlines and stuck with passive-aggressive bullsh*t that both pushed boundaries and othered the biracial royal quite affectively. They knew what they were doing.
None of this disrespect was shown to Kate M post-engagement or post-wedding. And yes - a reference to a word with a history of hatred attached to it globally and overtly sexualizing the fiance on the day of her wedding is BS. |
So none then. But I do recall an overtly racist incident when that relative of Harry’s wore a blackamour to the engagement or Christmas party. The media were up in roars, but no peep from Harry or Meghan. I get it the media is a convenient target, as is convenient to use the race card. |
That relative of Harry's?? You mean the Queen's first cousin - HRH The Princess Michael of Kent? That is exactly what we're talking about. She wore this to MEET Meghan. If she thought she could get away with this racism, what must of Harry and Meghan been dealing with behind the scenes with courtiers, staffers, and other royals?

| Will Harry and Megan be at the Oscars on Feb 24? |

re: racism!
I really don’t think anyone cares that she has a small amount of African ancestry. She passes for a fit middle aged Caucasian woman. I just think clever people saw thru her conniving manipulating status obsessed BS. And of course the royal family’s background check on her no doubt confirmed all their suspicions and more. Harry the halfwit married her anyways. This “show” and her separating Harry from his family (and his country) is her MO. She needs to seek a shrink far more than she needs to seek voiceover gigs. |
No. But Kate and William will be at the BAFTAs on Feb 2. Funny how 'hollywood' some royals are and some aren't. |
They go every year. B stands for British. It’s not called the HAFTAs. |
