| This morning I dropped my son off in an overnight pull-up because we ran out of regular pull-ups. When I picked him up at 4 today he was in the same exact pull-up (I know this because we brought regular ones to school) and it was soaking through his pants and full of poop too. He just turned three. What should I say to the daycare tomorrow? This is the first time this has happened and I'm not happy. |
| I don't believe this. |
| What don't you believe?? He has been going to this daycare since he was an infant. Not sure if I should talk to head teacher or director. |
| Talk to both. I'm sure it won't happen again. |
Yup, talk to both. That's not ok. The facility should have protocols in place to ensure that all children are changed/toilets regularly (my son's daycare has a chart in the classroom). It's not the end of the world, but you are right to be concerned. Poor guy! |
| Uh - what? They don't have a policy to change all kids every 2/3 hours? |
Not the end of the world? A child in our daycare was left in a poop diaper for under 3 hours and she was so raw she was screaming in pain. This is ridiculous and I would be furious!! |
| He didn't soak through all day in a pull up? Those don't hold much water. Did you notice this at pick up time or when you got back? |
re-read -- it did soak through. |
This is when I wish we had an edit feature. I misread and saw that as soon as I hit submit. |
| Why is he wearing a pull up if he shits and pisses himself? |
|
How are you even questioning whether to say something?
Is this a center, or a home? At our center, at this age, it is encouraged ("let's try the potty!) hourly, and of course as needed. My daughter and all of her classmates are just under 3, and they all only wear pull-ups during nap time. |
| This is OP. First I'm not questioning whether to say something I'm asking who to talk to and what to say so I don't go off the deep end. I'm angry. This is a licensed naeyc center. I noticed it when I was putting him in his car seat. He is working on potty training- does only pee though. They want the kids in pull-ups or underwear no diapers which is fine. |
| I'd leave over this. |
| I was just about to ask when you noticed. If I had noticed while still on their property I would have immediately gone back inside and said something to director and teacher. Why didn't you? |
