I didn't say anything at pickup because the director was gone for the day as was the main teacher and I had my five week old twins with me and wanted to get home and get him cleaned up. I should have though so they could have seen it.

He is almost three and didn't tell his teacher or let alone his mother that his pull-up was wet?

I still don't believe this. If they are taking him to the potty they would have noticed it, and I just do not believe that a 2 year old wasn't taken all day. Likely it was the same pull up from the am because he had been using the bathroom and then he shit himself right before mom got there.

Pull ups don't even hold much - one big pee and poop before pickup would have done this.

This is OP. The only "reasonable" explanation I can give is maybe he did the poop while at the playground in the afternoon and did the pee during nap and then never changed him? Really trying to give people the benefit of teh doubt but it's not acceptable.
