Biden's VP?

Joe owes Liz Warren the VP nod for her sacking Mike’s campaign, thus resuscitating Joe. Plus added benefit of first female potus narrative (after Joe inevitable resigns in 2021).

Adds little, brings way too much baggage.

That’s how I feel about Klobuchar.

I just checked the last round of polls before Harris dropped out (early December). She was hovering around 4-5% support and was solidly the bubble candidate in 5th place behind Biden, Bernie, Warren, Pete. Klobuchar wasn’t getting above 2%.

I’d love to see Warren in the WH, but I just don’t think she’s make a good VP to Biden. (A) She’s too old to pair with Biden. (B) I can’t see her deferring to him as POTUS, and instead see her acting as his rival from within. Others may see that as a positive, but I see it as disruptive in this environment.

Best thing about Warren would be the SNL skits. But I’m ok with 4 years of Maya Rudolph.

Wishful thinking, but pretty far from Biden's own choice. Not very likely to happen.

I personally think the person who adds the most to his ticket would be NM Governor Michelle Grisham.

It was Pete, followed by Amy, who resurrected Joe.

Amy delivered MN and is actually experienced, which puts her at the top of the list. I think Harris is also in the mix--she was basically given top billing after Biden at the MI campaign event last night. I think Pete will get a plum appointment, but the VP will be a woman guaranteed.

My daughter, 22, has been advocating this for months. She in Bernie’s demographic base, but much prefers Biden.

I’m hoping for Kamalla Harris.

Not sure if people are still seriously suggesting Barack Obama as VP, but if so tell your daughter that he’s just as ineligible to be president as she is.

The most logical choice, presuming Biden can hold the black vote. With the Obamas as his surrogates, he should be okay.

I honestly don't see what Amy brings to the ticket. Other than not being in her 70's?

Minnesota, Midwest, women, prosecutor, tough as nails, good life story, will rip little Pence to shreds, doesn't annoy people - she brings a lot to the table

^ That said I think it should be Harris or Abrams

Oh please. Two very poor team players who bring nothing to the table other than some skin pigmentation.

You are racist. And you've got to be kidding.

Racist are the folks pushing Harris and Abrams with zero logic other than skin color.

Yup.

Kamala tanked partially because black people weren't interested. She thought she would skeewee her way to the nomination.

Nope.

+1,000

+ a million.

Only some clueless whites care about her.

Each of you represents a thousand and a million people, respectively?

At the very least.

Notice how few people voted for Harris when given the chance.

Harris was targeted by ADOS, a MAGA movement; by Russian bots; and by Tulsi Gabbard, who seems to have been in the primary for just that purpose. I wonder why....

She's an American citizen of upper class Jamaican and upper caste Indian descent raised mostly by her Indian mother (who as her aunt rightly pointed out, made her who she is. She took extended visits to India growing up. About half her childhood was spent in Canada.

She couldn't be less rooted in American blackness.

A dem mom friend of mine from India was telling me in October that she didn't even know Harris was part Indian.

Kamala tried to get the nomination on someone else's history and legacy and it failed.

Barack Obama was raised in Hawaii by his white mother and white grandparents but clearly identified with his black heritage. Racial identity is complex especially when one is mixed race.

Obama is eligible for VP position, he just can’t serve as elected president. He is eligible to serve as President should Joe die or resign. Did you fail Poli-Sci 101?

1. She’s qualified and has experience.
2. She comes from a safe state where the Dems won’t lose a Senate seat.
3. She’s got that moderate background so she will be attractive to conservative Dems and independents who might be scared off by someone further to the left.
4. She will be attractive to voters who want to see a woman and/or a minority on the ticket (indeed, she’s part black and part Southeast Asian, so attractive to two groups).
5. She is a happy warrior like Biden, so she fits the ethos.
6. She is a relatively young and exuberant campaigner and so counterbalances the old-man element of Biden, Pence, and Trump.
7. She is young enough that she could serve through 4 or 8 years of Biden, and still be young enough to run as his successor.
8. She matches up well against Nikki Haley, who seems to be the person the GOP is positioning to run in 2024 after Trump gets his ass kicked.
9. She would kick Pence’s ass at the VP debate, and generally would be an effective attacker as VP.
10. She has the recent Senate experience she can use on legislative affairs issues.

Only negatives I see are (a) some voters will dislike that she’s black, but frankly ... screw them, (b) some Bernie voters will consider her too moderate. I see those as small prices to pay for all her advantages.

I’m not sure she’s my personal first choice, but I think she is the right choice.

She’s a phony — not black at all. Pick a real black woman. There are plenty.

Seriously. You can’t in 2020 tell someone they’re not “black enough.” If that’s how they identify, that’s how they identify. Biracial people get beaten up from both sides.

You are simply and completely wrong. Barack Obama is not eligible to serve as VP. Here’s the final sentence of the 12th Amendment to the Constitution: “... But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.” Obama not eligible for President, and so not eligible for VP.
