He can either get away with it with a historical marker, or he can get away with it without. At least with the marker, the American public is put on notice as to what the US Constitution means to the in the House, Senate and White House. (ie not much) |

You're missing something here, though... Whether willful or not, it's very clear that a large portion of the American public is ignorant to the Constitution. You and I might agree that what Trump did is wrong and in direct violation of what was intended by the Constitution, but how many people are out their saying he didn't break any laws and this is not a big deal? I've been cringing at the amount of (usually older) people I overhear saying that this impeachment trial is a joke and the democrats are just embarrassing themselves. I'd like to think that they just truly don't understand, but honestly, I think they're fine with it. They think it's okay to make a few threats, because in their minds, he didn't pull out a gun and shoot someone in the face. And even then... they'd probably say it was justified. Actually, when you think about it, it's terrifying to not only realize the abuse of power that is being thrown in our faces, but how many people aren't even batting an eye at it. |
I mean... the country made Donald Trump president. When we woke up Wednesday, November 9 2016, I think we all realized that the country is stupider than we realized. Sure, we thought that like 25% of us were imbeciles, but now we know it’s like 50/50. |
Then it is up to the Dems and the media to remind people that Bribery is specifically enumerated in the US Constitution as a "shall be impeachable" offense. |
One great thing about being older is that you have a sense of historical perspective that younger people do not. Those of us who have lived through big events like war, assassinations, riots, economic upheaval, etc. is that you know trivial BS when you see it. Ukraine is trivial BS. Sorry if we older folks are hard to persuade otherwise. Also we don’t get high and forget to vote on Election Day. |
More or less trivial than lying about a blow job? |
okay, boomer |
You sound so old that you don't remember that bribery is a crime. Bless your heart. |
I still think (hope) it's closer to 30%, they just live in the "right" states for the Electoral College. The rest of them are enjoying shaping (ruining) the federal courts for at least a lifetime. And their tax cuts. That's being generous and not even getting into the racism that also drove Trump's victory. |
It isn’t that you are old and wise. You are just stupid. I’m sure you were dumber in your youth, but that’s not saying much. I’ve got a kid and I don’t need a new world order that establishes our president on the take and our foreign policy up to the highest bidder. I also don’t need an unchecked Russian marching on Europe. You and your kind will likely not live to see the ramifications of these events, but the rest of us won’t be so lucky. |
Hunter Biden told me that bribery is not a crime after all. And neither is using cocaine! What a guy. |
A president bribing a foreign country for personal gain is not trivial BS. Sorry Boomer. |

Hunter Biden is irrelevant to this story, despite the Russian propaganda through Joe DiGenova/Victoria Tonesing attempts to make it so. |
