This is just like Nancy saying that impeachment was so necessary to complete so quickly because there was such a national security risk of keeping Trump in office - and then she proceeds to hold onto the articles for a month.

Every republican senator knows he’s guilty. They also know that this is a BFD, but they have idiots for constituents. They have 2 choices:
1) remain feckless chickensh#t cowards and try to hold onto their jobs. Educating their public would take real work, and as evidenced by Trump rallies, his supporters mostly lack the mental acuity to understand what the president did and why it matters.
2) push for witnesses and face Trump and his twitter mob. Possibly risk a primary. Lose their jobs. And Trump is still standing, because 40% of the electorate just doesn’t care for various reasons.
The evidence is clear, we just have a foxnews upside world where 40% of the public gets to pretend the sky is green and grass is red.

The loose transcript of the call, and the withheld funds are clear and concise, and supported by public statements by both Trump and Mulvaney. If want to live in make believe land where that isn’t a shake down to f with our electoral process, nothing anyone says is going to convince you. You aren’t worth anyone’s time.

I don't think Mitch McConnell wants to make this into a circus. Having Parnas testify would do just that. The statements he has made on the news shows have been inconsistent and for many he has offered no evidence. It's low risk to go on left wing shows and spout accusations. It is totally something else to go under oath. He would be exposed as the fraud he is.

What are the things he mentioned for which there is no evidence? We already knew Pence, Perrry and Barr were implicated. He simply confirmed that. We already knew the deal was getting Ukraine to announce an investigation in exchange for "dirt" on the Bidens, and we already knew everything was done with full disclosure and knowledge of the President. We also already knew about DiGenova and Toensing and their relationship with Dmitri Firtash. The only new thing was the "hit" on the Ambassador, which Parnas didn't discuss and was only conjectured through the texts he provided.

Pence's office is taking exception or Parnas's interviews. Interesting because Pence has gotten a classification of Jennifer Williams' memo after the fact. If Pence was so clear on the facts, perhaps he would support declassifying said memo?

Otherwise, what we have is her testimony and Parnas's documentary evidence against Pence's "word" and his blacking of evidence.

If it were exculpatory, it would be released.

Dershowitz tells me he'll be speaking on the Senate floor to argue against Trump's impeachment next week. Says POTUS asked him to do it. Says he will argue the case that abuse of power and obstruction of congress are not "high crimes and misdemeanors" that deserve impeachment.

Dershowitz says he has been coordinating with the president's legal team in crafting his argument. "The president asked me to present my independent constitutional arguments in my books and articles to the Senate," he said.




So in other words, the argument is going to be "I did it, but it isn't impeachable"
