The last word from the Chicago police of which I am aware was that the leaks to the media were wrong and that the incident was not being considered a hoax. This story reminds me of the wave of bomb threats across the US and other countries against Jewish sites back in 2016. It all turned out to be hoaxes by an Israeli trying to stir up fear of anti-semitism. It was a giant hoax and he had made about 2000 calls.

While the story was generally feasible (MAGA trash are homophobic racists), I don’t want to rush to any judgments until the police made a statement. Because I clearly don’t have all of the same facts as they do.
