So when is the title of this thread going to be changed?

I don't think it's realistic to expect Jeff to constantly update thread titles based on continuing shifts in reporting and news events. There are literally hundreds of ongoing threads on DCUM and it would take forever. I think most people have enough sense to realize that when the thread started, we didn't have access to the information that we do now.

Yeah and to be fair you can go back to page 1 of this thread where jsteele said something to the effect that he thought this story was a bit suspect and we should wait for the facts to come out. He said a few pages back that this story "seems pretty far-fetched" but just waiting for the police to do their thing. I get my posts removed now and again but I think the moderation on this one has been pretty fair. Who cares about thread title anyway? The truth will come out regardless.

He should be fined for at least a portion of the costs of this investigation.

Posters' obsession with the title of the thread is amazing. You would think the fate of the world hangs on the wording of the subject line of this thread. The last word from the Chicago police of which I am aware was that the leaks to the media were wrong and that the incident was not being considered a hoax. I know that there have been subsequent leaks, but I think it is wise to wait until there is something official. Once there is an official statement ruling out the initial account, I'll update the title.

For me the issue with the title is that it’s emblamatic of the media’s bs, clickbait approach to journalism.....money trumps integrity and the truth.
