Gun store opening next door to Franklin Sherman Elementary in Mclean

Ah, but he's on others, whereas Comstock is nowhere to be found.

Good for her!

Who cares? Where did a gun shop in a wealthy suburban town affect crime? If you can tell me that, I'd appreciate it.

Beyer's name isn't listed because he too works on federal issues. That's the way our system works. You elect Supervisors to handle local stuff; legislative reps to handle state stuff; and Congressmen and Senators to handle federal stuff.

Exactly.

Beyer's been active in support of gun control initiatives and the Feds could certainly adopt legislation that preempt state law. No matter how you slice it the Republican politicians do us all a disservice by sucking up to gun crazies and the NRA, and remaining silent in the face of both gun violence and intentionally provocative acts such as opening gun stores near schools.

But Beyer is not on this list. http://www.barbarafavola.org/news-events

And Barbara Comstock has a history of supporting gun violence, she is against any reasonable gun control.

she is a tea party partisan.

When people start voting on gun violence control as a single issue voter, like all the gun nuts do, remember, Barbara Comstock is against gun control of any reasonable type, she is against background checks, like the NRA. The NRA Is a fan of Barbara Comstock.

Barbara Comstock

Throughout her career in the Virginia House of Delegates, Barbara Comstock has been a proven leader and stood up to every attempt by anti-gun extremists to degrade and erode our Second Amendment rights and hunting heritage.

Opposes "Universal" Background Checks
Opposes semi-auto ban
Supports buying as many hand guns as you want, no limits

Can anyone please voice your specific concerns/fears about the shop? If you asked me why I wouldn't want a porn shop there, I could tell you, ad nauseam. Same about a bar.

"Just because" isn't much of an answer, but that's what the protesters told me when I asked. If it's a "safety" issue, please provide data about increased crime rates of other suburban gun shops. Let's address some facts here.

Anyone?

I remember the gun shop out in Middleburg, before Sheila Johnson moved into that location. Their primary clients were law enforcement, but yeah, wealthy locals tend to own a gun, in spite of what they tell you. Even in McLean. Some moms probably don't even know where husband has a gun locked up.

A history of supporting gun violence. Is that so?

We will never have true discourse on this issue if gun control advocates continue to call those on the other side murderers. Between 80-100 million US households have legal firearms. They are moms, dads, uncles, aunts. They want to keep their loved ones safe just as much as you do. If we can all agree on this point, we can move forward and at least try to figure something out.

Yeah, Barbara Comstock ought to run for one of those vacant seats on the Loudoun Board of Supervisors. She's way too far to the right now for her constituents in Fairfax County.

+10000

Being pro second amendment does not make one pro gun violence.

When did having a bunch of rednecks selling guns in a wealthy, safe suburb ever make it a better place to live? If John Justice is too damn lazy to develop the parcels, at least he ought to sell them rather than let them turn into such an eyesore.

So what? Some of the McLean residents who don't want a gun shop next to an elementary school are gun owners. Some of them might even be *gasp* republicans. What does that have to do with anything?

Perhaps you missed Miss Vicky's petition. She demanded that the shop get out of McLean. As a newcomer, she doesn't know that most McLean property owners have at least one gun.

Democrat Governor McAuliffe owns more than one gun, and he isn't shy to tell you so. I wouldn't at all be surprised if Foust owned a few as well. Of course he wouldn't want to get clobbered, so why tell you?

Maybe his wife forgot about that.

Maybe his wife forgot about that.

"During his State of the Commonwealth address in January, McAuliffe said residents “can no longer stand by as our fellow Virginians are lost to preventable and senseless acts of gun violence.”

“Even one Virginian’s precious life is too high a price to pay for our inability to reach a reasonable compromise on gun safety,” he added.

McAuliffe and other Democrats would enact sensible gun control laws, if not constrained by the Republicans who've enabled a culture of gun-inflicted violence. They are a disaster for the whole DC region.

It doesn't say exactly what he wants.
