You obviously don't live in Virginia. Virginia is an open carry state. People all around VA walk around with guns exposed or have concealed carry permits. Republicans don't run for office here on the "tough gun control" platform. Why would they? Virginians want their 2nd amendment rights. Why would a Republican try to cross that? You're not making any sense.

You seem to be living in some fantasy version of Virginia that exists only in your own imagination, rather than the state that Obams carried twice; that has a Democratic governor and two Democratic senators; and that has many local jurisdictions such as Arlington and Fairfax controlled by Democrats. The right-wing gun nuts have no future in this county. I've voted for some Republican candidates in the past, but not this fall. They just render themselves more and more irrelevant with their Tea Party candidates and their unwillingness to stand up for families and children. All they seem to care about are guns and interfering with women's reproductive rights.

So you disagree that it is an open carry state? That McLean is predominantly R, having trounced Foust in his attempt to best Comstock (R)? The anti-gun lobby's mistake was in taking on McLean. No one here truly cares about this issue except for the outsiders and their list of names. The protests stopped. There are no emails. No one is discussing it. The gun shop is flourishing. The local papers aren't covering it. It's last week's new. Why do you keep on with the misdirected attacks?

You are delusional. McLean is predominantly Democratic now and will only become more so with the right-wing Republicans supporting gun store owners from Maryland who are putting their kids at risk and hurting their property values.

The anti-gun store petition has over 2200 signatures now, with most signers from McLean. The pro-gun store petition is more like 1000 signatures with very few signers from McLean. You should have thought harder before renting the store to a firearms store, Mr. JJ.

BECAUSE THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE FOR REPUBLICANS LIVING IN McLean. We already have the gun shop. The gun shop is operating within its rights. Foust has walked away with tail between his legs. Everyone is now supporting the Auto business (the landlord) and the gun shop. You can't even get a parking place. There is no reason for us to sign a petition. We've moved on.

You and I both know you can't tell that from a FB page. Seriously where are you anti-gun people getting your talking points? Everything they are feeding you is wrong Wrong Congressional leader. Wrong on Warren Burger. Wrong on Beyer. Wrong on facebook numbers.

If what you say is true, then Barbara Comstock (R) would not have beat Foust (D) in the midterms. She took Wolf's seat. Frank Wolf was the longest serving politican in Virginia, having been Repulibcan in that seat from 1981-2015.

It's only been explained 50 times that the 10th Congressional District is not the same thing as McLean (predominantly Democratic now) or the Dranesville District in Fairfax County (same). It's largely composed of more conservative parts of Loudoun and Prince William. And, of course, since Wolf blessed Comstock, that helped her as well, but she most certainly could not win an election in McLean now. The local politicians for McLean are largely Democratic - Beyer, Favola, Murphy, Sullivan, Simon, etc. All but Beyer have publicly criticized the store's location and Beyer supports more gun control laws.

The right-wing pro-gun Republicans are a distinct minority in McLean. The Republican politicians are (excuse the pun) shooting themselves in the foot and will lose Republican voters in the fall elections. People don't move to McLean so the local Republicans can tell them it's fine if downtown McLean has firearms stores within a stone's throw of an elementary school. That's bullshit Florida panhandle stuff, not what people expect in NoVa.

Please do NOT share names here besides the local politicians who have posted pictures of their attendance at the protest . The pro-gun people will harass local residents just like they've harassed the McLean woman who started the petition.

The change.org petition has over 2200 signatures and most who provided explanations why they signed live in McLean. They include FS parents, FS alumni, FS teachers, parents of FS teachers, local HS teachers, and many more residents.

If this landlord and store owner had one shred of decency or class between them, they would recognize the location is a problem and find a way to move. But they lack that. They want attention and publicity, and they don't give a shit about the feelings of the community.

And they thought every Dem had to be anti-choice. No. Just no. McAuliffe isn't the only pro-choice Democrat.
