Let's not loose sight that before Hannah went missing, someone provided her with alcohol whereby she became "disoriented" and couldn't find her way home or her friends. Whoever gave her alcohol should be kicked out of the school. Disoriented is a nice way to say she was probably buzzed or drunk.

She chose to drink it

Still illegal to provide alcohol to a minor. And it's possible that someone could have slipped something else into her drink.

Omg. A minor was drinking alcohol?! Call the cops!

Did you see the grief on her parents' faces and hear the grief in her dad's voice as they shared their fears? I'm sure they wish someone had cared enough to not serve alcohol to their minor daughter.

You clearly don't have a child in college and maybe you never went to college yourself.

This ski and snowboard organization, if found responsible for serving her alcohol, could result in a lawsuit against the school. Those kids in that org who were responsible should be kicked out.

I guess there's little likelihood she's alive at this point? It would be wonderful to find out she's okay. My prayers are with the student - I hope she's alive and okay or at the least not suffering - and with her family.

That would be wonderful. Definitely the best outcome.

For a start, he is "a person of interest" on the disappearance - he is not a suspect. He is wanted for reckless driving which is just an excuse to detain him while they investigate.

Second, he is black and if you really believe that a black person gets the same type of justice as a white person you are totally delusional.

He did the right thing in asking for an attorney before he answers any other questions.

Just for reckless driving. Not related to Hannah.
oops, I missed that small detailed, wrote in a rush especially since the 50k reward for info' was right on there.

and since I posted the above, Police just asked media to delete Poster... Something was published on there that shouldn't have been on there. New poster coming soon.

smh...

Yeah, the first poster I saw this afternoon had his SSN on it. Now I'm seeing that info redacted.

Because there were two sexual assaults in the vicinity of where Hannah said that she was lost (14th and Wertland) shortly after she disappeared. I would hate for this guy to be falsely accused and end up driving into a wall, killing himself, only to find that even more girls go missing in Charlottesville. That's why.

But why is he running like crazy if he wasn't involved? If I were hanging out innocently with someone who disappeared, I'd be at the police station immediately telling them what I knew.

Because, if I were him (a young black male) and I found out I was the last person to see a white teenage girl before she went missing, I would be terrified. They are on a mission and were focused on him before this whole station thing went down - all it took was seeing that they were together on video. The justice system isn't always fair and if I was on his end I would be scared as hell if I was innocent. The police have NO IDEA what happened after he was with her and if he can't explain it, he's not in a good position.

Oh please. Initially the video/reports focused on a white guy. This whole THEYRE AFTER HIM BECAUSE HE IS BLACK thing is ridiculous. They're after him because he was the last one seen with her and now he has fled.

PP here - I never said anything about them going after him because he is black. I said I would be terrified if I were him and I were innocent because - let's be honest - people WANT it to be him. If the police don't know what happened to her after he left her (if he is innocent), he'll still be the fall guy.

Sorry... where is a link to the info about who she partied with that evening? I've seen several of you mentioned the snowboard team. Where did you get that information?

I think that people simply want this girl found. No one wants to see an innocent person nailed for her disappearance. But if he is responsible for this girl's disappearance - yes, he needs to be held accountable.

Please let's concentrate on finding Hannah. This really does not help do that.

I think it's just one poster out to get the snowboard club. What a sad diversion from finding this missing girl.

Sorry this is not about anyone but Hannah. Her parents deserve to know. By evading police this man is not helping anyone, just feeding into the perception people have about him. If he has done nothing wrong, what is to fear? If he is involved, he needs to face time and bring closure. This has dragged on too long.

Serving alcohol to a minor.

I think more than alcohol was served to her that evening.

This is what I think, too. Either before she was stumbling around the town or after when she was with JM. JM might have taken her somewhere and given her drugs and she overdosed and he panicked. This scenario seems to get played out in college towns and frat houses all over America.

If he is responsible for her disappearance he should be held accountable - no question. The problem is that any potential suspect can be railroaded especially in a case that is very much in the media and even more so if the person is black. Just the arrest warrant for reckless driving - which earlier was suspected reckless driving - shows they are after him. I am glad that he sought legal representation to safeguard his interests.

If they have a case against him, for the disappearance they should arrest him. Why seek to detain him on an unrelated charge? How often is a person detained for reckless driving? Citations are issued for reckless driving every day in the hundreds - how often are they detained?

I don't blame the police for focusing on him since he was the last known person to see her - but it does not follow that he is responsible for her disappearance.

If he is innocent and is the fall guy, it is his own fault. The story was all over the news in less than 24 hours after her disappearance. He could have come forward with helpful information immediately. Apparently, the other lurker called the tip and spoke to the police directly. This is what an innocent person does. If he was on drugs that night or whatever, he could have asked for immunity in exchange for providing crucial information about his time with her.

I agree with this. I don't think JM is responsible for Hannah's disappearance. If so, why wouldn't he have fled immediately after doing something to her? Why would he stick around town and wait a week? It makes no sense.

He's either a genius with an amazing cunning plan, or a dumb, but innocent idiot. I think he's the latter. I hope Hannah is still alive, or if harmed, that the perp is held accountable. But if JM turns out to be completely cleared and innocent with regards to Hannah's disappearance, I hope he sues the hell out of the police department. It honestly seems like they're just looking for a hot lead, more to please the public, rather than because it's actually credible.
