It would seem that Zimmerman's claim to have started back for his car conflicts with the statement made by Trayvon's girlfriend. If Zimmerman embellished in order to save himself, this could be the thing that gets him convicted.

George Zimmerman's father, a former judge named Robert Zimmerman, is now speaking out on his song's behalf.

As for accounts from Trayvon Martin's girlfriend, who claimed she was on the phone with Martin right before the altercation, he said, "I don't believe that happened. I don't believe she was on the phone with him, and I find it very strange with the publicity involved... that all of a sudden, after three weeks, someone would remember that they were on the phone."

So I guess he just doesn't believe phone records? It's one thing to not believe the contents of the phone call as reported by the girlfriend, but to disbelieve the phone call ever happened when records exist verifying that it did?

And this guy was a judge?

The Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart notes a police report “that was completed at 3:07 a.m. on Feb. 27 lists Trayvon’s full name, city of birth, address and phone number.” But yet, Trayvon’s body was reportedly “tagged as a John Doe” and his father wasn’t informed of his death until after he filed a missing person report later on the 27th.

So was the police report amended at a later time to include new information? What else may have been changed?

As the Trayvon Martin controversy splinters into a debate about self-defense, a central question remains: Who was heard crying for help on a 911 call in the moments before the teen was shot?

A leading expert in the field of forensic voice identification sought to answer that question by analyzing the recordings for the Orlando Sentinel.

His result: It was not George Zimmerman who called for help.

Tom Owen, forensic consultant for Owen Forensic Services LLC and chair emeritus for the American Board of Recorded Evidence, used voice identification software to rule out Zimmerman. Another expert contacted by the Sentinel, utilizing different techniques, came to the same conclusion.

Zimmerman claims self-defense in the shooting and told police he was the one screaming for help. But these experts say the evidence tells a different story.
