Child killed by Neighborhood Watch captain while walking home

No, hearsay is repeating the observations of someone else, such as "Bob said that Alice was in the car that night". You can testify to an exchange that you heard over a phone. She can say "I heard Tayvon say X and then another voice say Y". That is not hearsay.

It depends entirely upon the purposes of the testimony. If you're trying to establish that Trayvon had a conversation with someone, yes. If you're trying to prove the truth of something that was said, no. And there's a lot of grey area in between.

Well not exactly. The girlfriend has reported what she heard on the phone. Since she actually overheard some of the exchange between the two, it is not just hearsay. And her statement contradicts Zimmerman's on a really key point, namely that Zimmerman was not walking back to his car when the physical confrontation began.

It is precisely the definition of hearsay.

And if it is deemed hearsay, why would it not come in under an excited utterance exception.

There have been many pairs on DCUM of white, middle income to upper income posters talking of their drug use, past and present. Should we shoot and kill them?

The logical conclusion I come to when I read your question was "sure, if you say so"

Okay. Sounds good. Especially since many of those same people are stating in their posts that if toxicology shows drugs in TM system, it's confirmation that TM was acting funny and the kill was justified. Just saying, we need to start shooting a lot of the DCUM crowd, plus some.

So after one tragedy, you think the besT thing to do is shoot more people? Also sounds like a very logical way to refute what others say

New poster in this exchange.

Um, I know it's hard to read intent on the internet, but it's pretty clear the bolded response was the PP sarcastically making his/her point.

Right?

I can't believe what I just read. From what you are saying it follows that a straight A student with perfect behavior, high SES family, wearing a hoodie while black walking though a nice neighborhood, can reasonably be assumed to be up to no good and shot to death. I just wish that people who think like this can be more easily identified as i would not want to have any kind of friendship with such people.

My 10 year old daughter said to me "is it okay for someone to shoot a kid and say he felt threatened by the kid because he was black and wearing a hoodie? Does hat mean that black kids cannot wear hoodies? Even I know that is wrong and if the police did not arrest the man or investigate then they didn't do their job"
From the mouth of babes.

Is that what you taught your child to ask? Or if his twitter name should be "no limit n****"?Is your child also asking you if it's ok to get suspended from school for possession of stolen jewelry?
I didn't "teach" my child to ask any of these questions and I absolutely do my best to teach her to be a good person. A child mad an observation and commented on it. That's all. BTW, did Z know about Trayvon's twitter name or Facebook posts or school suspension No. Even if he did, it has no bearing on the shooting. If Trayvon, did make those comments in cyberspace, The fact remains that he was a CHILD, he was not armed and a grown man who is bigger than him, and had a gun, pursued him even as Trayvon walked faster to get away. If that was my child Z shot I would feel even more outrage that that no proper investigation was conducted but as a parent of teenagers, I can still feel a tiny bit of the pain of Trayvon's parents.

Don't be so sensational. Just teach your kids to be good people

Don't forget to add facebook posts of @ no limit n**** selling "trees" and huslting stolen jewlery, decking a bus driver

PP here. That was bizarre formatting. On a phone.

My post is in the third paragraph, from "I didn't "teach" my child...." to "the pain of Trayvon's parents"

Zimmerman's father was a judge and his mother was a clerk in the court.

The "graffiti" was scribbling "WTF" (which stands for "what the fuck") on a locker. If scribbling things on desks and tables also counts as graffiti, many children are guilty of it- your kids have likely written on a desk.

The "burglary tool" was a screwdriver that they thought could be used in a burglary.

The "stolen jewelry" didn't match any that had been reported stolen. So it's actually just jewelry. "No evidence ever surfaced that the jewelry was stolen."

If it is true that Zimmerman's father was a judge in that circuit and his mom a court clerk in the court house, it explains a lot as to why the original state attorney told the investigating officer that he could not prosecute the case due to lack of evidence. The investigating detective wanted to charge Zimmerman with manslaughter but SA said NO.

Yes, the governor removed or told the SA to step down. Now it makes sense.

Florida convict and sentence fourteen and fifteen year olds to life in prison. If they had any evidence, not not be legit, TM would have been arrested for possession of burglary tools at the very least.

I just read that Zimmerman's dad is a judge. Could that be why his charges were dismissed.

Another criminal with a judge father. Joran Vander sloot's dad was a judge.

Yes, I wonder if retired judge, Robert Zimmerman, had a hand in getting his dear son's felony reduced to a misdemeanor?
