I have a kid who did this because he didn’t like his coach. Also Dug McDaniel did it and had a great senior year. I can see this happening if a bad program suddenly becomes a good program.

Irrelevant bc Hayfield didn't have a bad program.

No kid doesn't play tackle football at all for 3 years and then starts playing as a senior. Sorry, not buying it.

Hayfield wasn’t good last year. They only beat teams that were awful and anytime they played a mediocre team, they lost by around 50.

I thought Hayfield won the National District title last year. That’s a big deal. Winning districts.

Also a wining record is a big deal. There are probably a dozen schools that have not had a winning record in football in twenty or so years.

6 of the freshman play with the JV/Varsity teams, the rest are from the frosh team but dress for Varisty

So what? That doesn't mean it was a "bad program". You can win by a lot, like Overton, and still be a bad coach with bad sportsmanship who hires druggies. They could have lost every game and still been a better program than the current scandal-ridden s-show.

However, their record last year was 6-5, which makes it perfectly average. Last year, actual Hayfield players got to play in the games as well, and there were no scandals with drug dealers/possible pedophiles, thieves, charlatans, creepy cult religious people etc. Hayfield parents and students vastly preferred the status quo.

Ironically they dont have bad sportsmanship LOL

Cheating is bad sportsmanship.

Does the entire freshman team "dress for Varsity"?

There are schools whose programs are under .500 over the past 20 years, but very few have not had some winning seasons over that stretch.

How strange to schedule the homecoming game against a random private school from Maryland. That is so odd!

That’s a game the people wanted to see. Who’d you want them the play?

Yes, they won their district which consists of 3 schools. Them, Annandale, and Mount Vernon. It is an accomplishment.

Hayfield’s district includes about ten schools. There’s also, Falls Church, Justice, Lee, Edison, Lewis. I’m certain I’m forgetting a few others.

They tied for the championship in the district that is gerrymandered to have the weakest programs. It's a big deal in the sense that none of the schools was ever going to beat a Patriot District team in the playoffs so it's nice that they get a trophy for beating each other.

Right, I’m starting to think Hayfield isn’t such an elite team after all. They are probably just a decent team in a super weak district

Not sure how "elite" they are but they are unfairly stacked. Look at the Chantilly game score, 70-0?
