Will Trump drop Vance?

His sons, particularly Don Jr. you may want to Google it. They’ve been a few articles about it. Apparently, Trump wanted Doug Burghum but the sons pushed for Vance.

He never used to listen to his sons. Why did he start now? Was it because Ivanka wasn't around to tell him to ignore them?

I assumed Trump would choose Burgum because who the hell is that? Trump likes to be the star, as we all heard.

I posted an article a while back saying that the sons and Eric‘s wife (and possibly the shrill gargoyle) are the new “in” team now that Jared and Ivanka have withdrawn from that role.

Because he’s losing it and scared to death if he loses he won’t be able to avoid prison.

It’s on record that not just the nitwit sons but Elon Musk and Tucker Carlson also personally lobbied Trump to pick Vance.

It’s probably Trump himself leaking the blame on the sons to tee up dumping Vance for someone else.

However they are stuck with Vance, they own that problem now.
Even if he drops out the campaign still looks goofy .Not sure how they could spin it so it doesn't hurt them.

I don't think Haley would accept. Haley has walked an incredibly fine line WRT to Trump. She isn't done politically. There's no way she witnesses this disaster and says, oh yeah, I'd love to step in and pick up the pieces here. She's got her phone on Do not Disturb while she plots out her future.

+1. Harris wins and she’s a strong contender to top the ticket in 2028. And win. Plus, the most impressive thing about Pence is her made it all 4 years and wasn’t indicted for something. And even with that, he’s unelectable to a future office. It’s hard to work with Trump and not catch ETTD.

So Trump did zero vetting?

No. Trump had the momentum, got cocky and “went with his gut”. And his DIL runs the RNC, so who was going to say no or tell him it’s a bad idea? There was no vetting, beyond “does he kiss my a**”. If the dump Vance, the next loser to get caught up in ETTD won’t be vetted either.

Burgum is the one most like a traditional GOP candidate. Considering Trump isn’t expected to last more than 18 months, he could’ve been a real draw for moderates and men who don’t love Kamala. But he picked the one that everyone hates.

Let’s put it this way, nobody is going to think that maybe Doug Burg effed furniture.

I’ll still vote for Trump, but yeah, Vance is a PR nightmare and a weird dude. But I don’t think PR matters much for Trump.

It's Harris, btw. Since you used last names for the others.

"Vance was not ready this cycle, he'll be ready in 16 years."
