Let’s just hope Putin doesn’t invade when Joe is distracted by something more important, like lime jello or chocolate pudding for dessert.

I can understand not agreeing with Biden's policy choices. I cannot for the life of me understand having a strong emotional response to the man himself.

NP.

I do not have any emotional reaction to the president.

I am concerned he appears to be suffering from serious mental decline, and possible Alzheimer’s disease.

My father is 80 and actually has Alzheimer's. Biden clearly does not and it's offensive and disgusting to use it as a political attack.

So true

A US Deputy Ambassador was just expelled from Russia.

Russian-backed forces in Eastern Ukraine bombed a kindergarten school, trying to provoke a response from the Ukrainian government forces which would serve as a pretext to invade further.

Putin has erred. This has reinvigorated NATO. Europe is no longer asleep at the wheel.

This is straight out of Hitler's playbook when he invaded Poland. Claim that genocide is being committed and make up an excuse to invade.

Russia is also using the same playbook they used to attack Georgia in 2008. In 2008 Russia even claimed to be withdrawing troops before they just had to act to protect the civilians from the Georgian aggressors.

We can't diagnose him obviously, but it's apparent there is some decline. You can look at all the videos which prove his grasping for words and some confusion. I hope he can hang on for 3 more years.

what would be the impact of this war on US? Should there be preparation/worry?

If Putin succeeds, he doesn't stop at Ukraine. There's also a huge Ukrainian-American population, vast majority of whom are recent immigrants and their 1st gen American kids. Lots of American citizens and Green Card holders in Ukraine itself.

I would expect retaliatory cyber attacks on US infrastructure - hacking, ransomware - on the energy and banking sectors.

Liz Truss making a play for Prime Minister. Kudos!

Can you imagine BoJo doing any of this?

Russia has planned numerous false-flag operations to try to justify attacking and annexing more of Ukraine:

- false flag mass grave “discovery”. Russia will claim it found evidence of a “human rights atrocity” in the form of a mass grave in Eastern Ukraine; it will claim Ukrainian nationalists are murdering “Russians” so it has no choice but to invade and occupy Ukraine;

- false flag “chemical weapons attack.” Russia has moved large amounts of concentrated ammonia to its border with Ukraine; Russia may release the ammonia, and falsely claim Ukraine “attacked” Russia with crude chemical weapons, leaving Russia no choice but to invade.

To understand Russia, examine their history (and see if they plan something similar, as a false flag, in Ukraine):

Hey maybe they should claim they discovered WMD in Ukraine. Bring a tube to wave around or something. Worked brilliantly in the past, no?
