This is unobjectionable, considering the model. The pants are a bit too short but this is a common sin.

Monochromatic dressing works better when textures are different.

this looks like a still from a horror movie!

So remind me, this is Neck, Liberty, Hair and Gums?

I think everyone is looking for things to nitpick here. I am not a fan At All, and I have watched this thread with horrified glee for months, and even posted some worst offending outfits. But, I have to give credit. This is a fantastic outfit and she looks amazing.

She’s literally not wearing any type of bra at all and this is the shining fashion example people want to cite to?

She's like a 32A, she can get away with it.

Back to the Trumps, please.

I don't know about "amazing" but it's pretty good for a fashion layout in an 80s working woman magazine. It's downright modest and fits. As with all fashion shoots, the fabric looks like these clothes have never been worn before and never will be worn again by this person. Generally, she knows who she works for and knows that how she looks is the most important part of her job.
Fashion-wise, it's a win!

I have a suit like that and I regret buying it because I just feel like it’s not that flattering and hard to wear. But I think it’s a fine choice. The problem with the shell is that the undertones are off—it’s a mushroom shade of brown which has cool undertones and the suit has warm undertones. Monochromatic only works if you stay in the same family. A warm chocolate, caramel or cream she’ll would be better. This mushroom would go better with a brown that tended more to khaki (although that would be hideous for other reasons).

I take issue with the person who criticized brown as for depressed people. I love brown and look good in it. Most of my favorite things are brown...coffee, chocolate, dogs, the dessert....

Whoops, desert not dessert. But also dessert.

I wouldn’t wear it and it’s not my favourite colour but I think she looks good here. If she keeps this up my favourite thread will die, though, so I have mixed feelings!

A leather button-down. Huh.

Very hitler youth.

I guess beige is the new black. Color me impeached.

Melania has a very nice figure. The shirt looks like it would be uncomfortable though.

I think the lining is longer because it's cut on the bias and she is out of proportion for the size she's wearing. I actually don't wear anything bias cut because the size that fits my waist is too tight on my hips and the same thing happens.

I'm baffled by the sizes of people in this photo, but what is the deal with someone's eyes connecting her right hand and the watch of the guy on her right?

Teleprompter reflection maybe?

Somehow it's a snip from the rightmost guy's face. It looks like someone took a clip of that and inserted it between them.

That was me. To be clear, I also like brown, especially chocolate, just not too much at once. And, I agree on the undertones, makes all the difference with browns. But, e.g. watch the trailer for Can You Ever Forgive Me?. The costume design is clearly using brown and not just frumpy clothes. At first, it’s being down and out, and then, when the crime is underway, the clothing helps to blend into the woodwork. Anyway, I thought it was an insightful comment, also with respect to black. All black works for maudlin, but really because it’s dramatic—not depressive. To get back on topic, Melania usually comes up with an excessively brown outfit around this time of year.
