Yup. Most people will get it. BUT that’s not a reason to panic.

Good read.

Not panicking per se, but I am starting to think that it is very likely that my parents will not survive the year. They are elderly, and one is diabetic and the other asthmatic. I am also feeling pretty nervous about healthcare for other emergency conditions if large numbers are hospitalized. We really rely on the fact that we can get into ERs and hospitals when we need it for other conditions.

Anonymous wrote:Why aren’t children as affected by COVID19 as adults? Seems like there’s a clue there to a treatment or vaccine. I know when my daughter was in preschool and elementary school, she picked up all kinds of flus and colds that were going around. Before someone beats me up about it, I know COVID19 is not a cold. But could young children have some kind of immunity because they had another endemic coronavirus exposure recently enough that their immune system recognizes what antibodies to use against COVID19? So all those things kids catch may have given them some cross immunity to this? And older people being more removed from that kind of exposure have no immunity? Maybe parents of younger children will fare better since they probably caught whatever bug their kids brought home.
Not as scientist. I just play one online.

I think kids are more blessed.

Fewer kids are smokers.

If it becomes widespread here, I wonder if we'll see a difference among young people who vape and those who don't.

Smoke, vape, etc. the virus is not going to care. Ppl can succumb for many reasons.

That’s pretty gloomy. I think and hope they will be fine. Stay the course like you are avoiding the flu

Any word from the Trump Administration? Seems like our government is going to have to say something at some point, right?

Someone should explain to Trump that this virus will preferentially kill his voter base: older males.

Given the demographics of Congress, maybe they will expedite funding.

Most of the people who are dying from this are elderly with preexisting health conditions. But, remember, that most of the elderly people with preexisting health conditions who contract this virus are also recovering from it. It is far from a certain death sentence.

Given how he’s cut funding and gutted several important agencies he might not actually have any experts to tell him what to do.
