No ECNL has to kick FCV out. That is essentially what was said. Now the odds of ECNL allowing FCV to remain are slim the point is that FCV feels that in light of the new partnership with Loudoun that they could field competitive teams in ECNL. All they said is that they have made their case and freely admitted that it is now up to ECNL but that all the requirements ECNL demanded of clubs to have DA and remain in ECNL. These conditions,as stated by ECNL, FCV believe they have met. While the chances of FCV keeping the slot are slim, mainly due to the fact that 3 DA' plus 4 ECNL clubs would thin the heard of players so to speak. But ECNL might be trying to expand in order to reduce travel which in turn reduces cost. So it is far from determined whether or not FCV remains in ECNL. It is truly TBD. |
But Foley was one of those "big personality" guys. He has worked with pro teams and has never been afraid to speak his mind on various youth issues. |
Good heavens people. It's time for a separate stand-alone FCV bitch topic so you can free this forum up. You people are closer to West Virginia than you are to DC, so maybe there is a great soccer chat website for those out in that part of the world. |
+1,000,000 It's so annoying. I don't even know where the f@ck FCV is... |
Please, who made you the board monitor. The discussion of FCV and the implications on other clubs is exactly the kind of conversation that belongs on here. If you don't like it, you can leave because you're not adding any value. |
Coming from the Arlington transplant from New Jersey who has more family ties to the south Bronx than nova and lives in a $900,000 1200 square foot row house built in 1775 and drinks wine with his bearded fake tough guys friends while listening to beck........now go back into your cubicle...your vape break is over |
Not the PP but the general DA discussion has left the building and has devolved into FCV centric minutiae that lacks any general interest. |
+1000 ...that guy who likes to start rants about new forums for every sub-topic is due to show up anytime...lol |
Well sure. But not for profits have to stay within the bounds of 501(c)(3), and for-profits don't. I imagine that some of the incentives for whoever is in charge of the club change based on that. |
The topic of this thread is "Travel Soccer teams around NOVA let's discuss". The FCV discussion is absolutely on-topic. Remember that no one is forcing you to read any of the posts you find boring, and you are always free to introduce a new topic. |
LMFAO!! and I'm an Arlington resident. Well done, nothing wrong with any of the FCV stuff. It's a NOVA soccer club right in NOVA that has a USGDA. Much better then all the crap discussion about the pathetic WS-Virginia, who are now basically based in MD and who should be banned from this forum by its self-appointed police. |
I have two young boys so none of this matters to me really, but I enjoy youth soccer...boys and girls. I have many friends with young female soccer players. With that said...I've been following this post for a long time and read all the posts about Loudoun, BRYC, FCV, WS, Reston, ECNL, and GDA and I don't know what the F is going on. I also don't even know where the hell FCV is located or if it's even a stand alone club. Is it like VISTA who is just used for admin purposes or does FCV actually have field space? It's all so confusing. Maybe someone should explain a little so the conversation is appealing to general soccer lovers and not just like 5 people....one whose daughter plays for PWSI, one in Loudoun, one in McLean, and two I have no idea. I know I can leave this site, but I don't want to. I'd like to stay and become educated but these posts are doing everything but that. It's a mess. |
FCV is "located" with whichever club(s) they have attached themselves to for that period of time. They don't have fields of their own. They partner with clubs for the sole purpose of gaining access to fields, then they dump those partnerships as soon as it's no longer convenient for them (or get dumped, like South County did to them). Their current attachment to Loudoun is for fields but mostly players, since that seems to be the selling point they're using to argue with ECNL about keeping that badge. |
