Ha! Meghan wasn't there long enough to form a relationship.

True. But I think he found Kate vacuous and stupid. Meghan was interesting and intelligent.

Not at all. Philip’s biographer, Ingrid Seward, said that Philip admired Kate’s athletic abilities and her support of William whilst in the military and then as an air ambulance pilot. Kate’s paternal grandfather was a decorated World War II pilot who few Philip on part of a Commonwealth tour. Two of her aunts also worked at Bletchley, and both Philip and the Queen felt that kinship of war veterans with Kate’s family.

Seward also wrote that Philip was polite to Meghan, but likened her to Wallis Simpson when she and Harry wanted one foot in the royal family and one foot in the States. Philip noted that Diana Spencer and Sarah Ferguson tried what he called the same shenanigans and he shut them out. The Queen refused to allow Philip to attend the Sandringham meeting when Charles, William, and Harry worked out the details of the Sussex’s stepping down. He had likened Meghan too frequently to the other American divorcée — someone the Queen also disliked because of the effect her husband’s abdication had on the Queen and her family.

After that meeting, Meghan was done and dusted with the Queen and Philip.

All I have to say about Ingrid is that she gave Charles a blowjob in the 60s and is about as qualified to be a biographer as my dog.

Yes, she mentioned that in his biography but did not mention your dog. Were you close to her?

Inserting that his wife got more time with Philip, while factual, is clearly a dig at Harry. None of Phillip’s children or grandchildren said anything as desperate.

Even the DM is writing about her.

Penny was the Queen’s sister wife. The Queen asked Penny to take Philip away from Sandringham so that he could not attend the moving along meeting with Harry, William, and Charles.

She was concerned that he would pop his clogs.

Admiring someone’s athletic abilities doesn’t really mean you don’t think they’re vacuous and stupid. The world is full of dumb athletes. But I could believe the rest of what Seward said with respect to Kate. But she doesn’t seem to be his type of person. Philip seems to surround himself with young, beautiful, women that are a little scandalous. Like Penny. Meghan seems more in that mold. But I doubt he was with it enough by the time Meghan came around to have a real opinion on any of this stuff. He has looked horrible for the last couple of years and retired from public life for a reason. I also don’t think he was as involved in all of the palace intrigue after he stepped down seeing as he spent most of his time at Wood Farm. Seems unlikely that he was knocking down the door to go talk about someone so far down the line as Harry. Harry and Meghan are a million times less consequential than Diana and the Queen’s uncle were as the mother of the heir and reigning monarch, respectively.

There is absolutely nothing scandalous about Penny. If anything, she's a victim of terrible heartbreak - first, her young daughter's death, and then the flight of her husband. When it comes to her actual person, I believe it's a matter of public record that the Queen admired her for her stoicism and carrying on with whatever lot she was in - such as taking over the the estate when her husband took off.

Add his age when he married and the years he was married to the Queen and it adds up to 99.

Coincidence?

99
9+9 = 18
1+8 = 9

OMG! Somebody call Stockholm! NOW! PP's revolutionary addition formula deserves Noble Price!

And while you will be dialing, you may just as well let the Pope know a miracle had happened cause few random numbers added up to 99!

This is either a metaphysical breakthrough or the PP found a proof of god.s existence. Might be much.. much bigger discovery then God's particle.

In any case, this has to be addressed IMMEDIATELY! or the universe will collapse onto itself!

You know there is a little piece to this. In numerology, the number 9 is associated with people who have gone through hardship and are wiser, stronger, and more aware of the needs of others. They were Napier others to handle hardship by showing grace and understanding.

Kinda describes Philip.

That’s not petty. It’s a fact. My grandmother died before I had children, but she got to meet and have relationships with my older sisters children, which was a part of the eulogy my sister wrote. I assure you, my sister and I have no pettiness between us. She was simply fortunate to be older and benefitted from more time with my grandparents. It would be remiss for William not to highlight the extraordinary good fortune they had for his wife and children to know Philip, and have a relationship with him for a long time.

Why did the Queen "refuse" to allow Philip to attend the meeting?

How did Diana and Fergie try the "same" shenanigans? I don't remember reading that they wanted to resign as royals and step away from royal duties?

Also, H&M's design to step away hardly had as much of an impact as the abdication
of the Queen's uncle, who was king at the time!

Philip would have been more harsh and alienating to Haary because he thrift he should do his duty to the crown. The Queen did not want to alienate Harry from the family.

Both Sarah and Diana wanted to retain patronage’s and charities after their divorced and they were stripped of most of them

Of course Harry’s stepping down did not have the same impact as a king’s abdication. He is barely in the line of succession. It was mire if an embarrassment for the family.

Wasn't there some sort of stink about Diana losing her title upon her divorce? Hence her brother's eulogy mentioning that she "needed no royal title" to be her amazing self after the divorce (paraphrasing here).

Lots of 'Is' and 'Mys' in William's statement. More than any others. Its sweet and selfish. Also a little petty but we'll go with sweet first.

I know I’m supposed to hate Andrew but his and Harry’s statements were the only ones that mentioned that they were now in the same boat as everyone else who has lost a loved one in the past year. Both display an empathy that’s missing in all the others. And boy did Edward age badly.

Oh ok. The kind of adulations they are heaping on a German Nazi hateful man, I thought someone else has died.

Philip spent 73 years at the side of the British monarch.

Kate’s job is to do the same for William when he takes the throne.

That’s the relevance. I’m sure Philip chatted with Kate about duty. And raising the next heir.

None of this is relevant to Harry and Meghan.

I find William a total ahole POS. Preening showing his kid with Philip while the biracial grandkid was chased away by the royal racist. Had to be Kate's doing.

Should abolish the monrarchy and the tex payers should get all the property.

What? You aware he fought AGAINST the Nazis in the WW2, aren't you?

If Harry married well or if his wife behaved normally, they would have had the same opportunities.

Philip was not a Nazi. His sisters married nazis and they were not invited to Philip's wedding.
