2021 DMV Boys Outlook

Wah Wah Wah. The WNEISLA schools do not have any 20 year old students on their teams. The rules of the league are such that you can't compete on a team if you are 20 years old. 19 Year olds are also as rare up there as they are down here in the IAC or MIAA. We will know who the cream of the IAC is in about six weeks.

Hahahahaha....19 y/o’s rare

Landon Plays St. Andy's tomorrow. Then one game against EHS, Then two games against St.SSt.A, two against St. Albans, and then Two against Bullis and Prep. Then the IAC tourney.

It should be a lot of fun.

I saw on Madlax's blog that one of EHS's best players, a 2023, already announced that he will be transferring after the season. Anyone know what is story is/where he's going?

Do any IAC teams have games today or this weekend?

I saw on Twitter Landon is playing Saint Andrew’s from the MAC today m.

WCAC officially starts their spring season next week.

IAC came out with their attendance policy. 2 parents of home team are all that is allowed. For an outdoor sport played in stadiums that seat easily 800+ with zero data behind it...Well done IAC AD's and HOS's; truly remarkable thinking and leadership!

As a friend of mine always says, "You can't fix stupid..."

No. But the kid did 9th grade at both Landon and Episcopal. Didn’t make varsity at Landon (and wouldn’t see field there now) and left. Episcopal is terrible now those big middies graduated. Why hit the wall or weight room when you can transfer or reclass?

Agree it’s stupid but not the IAC’s decision. The two spectator rule is Montgomery County and theoretically capped at 50 (although I can’t imagine it being actively enforced). As far as I know, STA isn’t even allowed by DC to host games yet so their “home” games will be at the other schools.

they wouldn't last in the private sector where decisions are logical and based on the profit motive.

3 different schools in 3 years? The kid has already reclassified at a previous IAC school,

While he is only a 2023, he only has one year of eligibility left in the IAC (after this Spring).

This game won’t be competitive, will it? I’m sure backups will get plenty of run.

But, you can also submit an alternative plan for attendance based on your facility/site for approval. My guess is that didn't happen...too much work for this group of leaders.

The MAC isn't super-strong but St Andrew's is a pretty good team with multiple players on strong clubs, just like Landon. Landon is deeper and will likely win this but it won't be a blowout.

If its not a blowout, its because Landon empties the bench. I think Landon has flown under the radar this year with Bullis and Prep as the heavy favorites in the IAC.

Saint Andrews program has been improving each year under Coach Smith and is heading in the right direction. The school appears to be putting an emphasis on boys basketball and boys lacrosse.
Saint Andrews would prob beat half the teams in the WCAC and maybe even St. Albans from the IAC. I like the direction in which the program is headed though.

All in all, great to finally see there is a local game today... any other games today or tomorrow?
