Dear middle-aged women: capri pants do nothing for you.

Tim Gunn: your suits are odd and way too tight.

I absolutely love my capri leggings!

I think it's great that some women avoid them for style reasons, and that some women just don't give two hoots about it.

It's a big world.

Exactly. I wear what I want to wear. I am a middle-aged woman who LOVES wearing capri pants! I will probably still be wearing them when I'm 100.

Here are some (google) examples of what I wear/look like in capris. If this makes me look frumpy then I don't care.

Yay, the capri thread!

Somewhere way back is one of the best lines I've read on DCUM. Something like this:

"I am pretty sure that middle-aged women wearing capris and Tory Burch sandals caused the financial crisis."

If you go to buy pants, it is hard to find ones that are not capris/above ankles.

The best part of being a middle aged woman is you DGAF what people think.

And yest I still manage not to wear capri pants. Interesting.

This made me laugh because one of the best things about middle age is you no longer care about what other people think about your capris. Not being a slave to fashion and conforming to trends is freeing.
Additionally I couldn't give a flying F*ck about other peoples clothing and suggest you try it too.

Yes, I am amazed by my middle aged and older friends and neighbors who care. Lighten up people, and stop GAF about what others are wearing. We don't care what you wear!

I went to an event today and many men and women in their 40s and 50s were in attendance. Most of the men wore polo shirts tucked in under their pot bellies and shorts.

Nearly all the women wore capri pants. Capri pants do nothing for you. If you are short, you don't look good in capri pants. If you are fat, you don't look good in capri pants. If you are tall, you don't look good in capri pants. If you are thin, you don't look good in capri pants. No matter the body type or age, capri pants are not flattering.

I say this lovingly. Wear anything else- anything! Shorts (long shorts, if you want to; even short shorts look better than capris), a skirt, pants, anything but capri pants. They make everyone look stumpy and shapeless. No one looks good in them.

Hey Op, come back to us in thirty years when you are with you pot belly husband .... your day will come.

It’s not about other people and their opinions, it’s about my own self-respect. I could never live with myself if I exited the house looking like any of the above pictures
