Tryouts are ID sessions...that's just a play on words

AND YES offers to come out of them. How else would they build a team?

Invitations to practices may come out of these but not outright offers yet.

You sure about that? Who would they be practicing with?

With the girls they keep inviting back. If you are a player at PWSI, VSA or CYA they invite you to a "Friday ID session" or a Saturday. They send the same invitations to outside kids.

This could be a pool of 35-40 kids and then they get to look at them once a week and whittle it down form there.

Yeah....ok....then they are dillusion....PWSI will get embarrassed on a national level..they better snatch up the talent as fast as they can...I promise FCV will be smart enough to do that

If that is the case then why were Loudoun and FCV kids at the VDA sessions? Because FCV is "locking them up"?

Because they haven't had tryouts yet....so......kids (parents) looking for multiple offers.

That's a nice story but what kind of "offer" do they think they're getting? If they're out shopping then they're not sold on the partnership that was sprung on them, so they're looking to get out of their current situation.

Ok..u must be a PWSI or VSA parent. You dont understand how much talent is getting combined between FCV and Loudoun. There will be some very talented kids that dont make the roster and will be looking for new teams. VDA is a secondary option...just like BRyc..mclean..etc. VDA should jump on that situation

Or, like everywhere else, clubs have 4 or 5 really good players and the rest are JAGs. Not a VSA, CYA or PWSI parent but FCV and Loudoun do not have a monopoly on talent. Yes, they have talented kids but so do the other clubs, especially at the younger ages. The older FCV ECNL teams will likely retain most of their players with Loudoun filling out depth as the age groups get combined.

But the player pools for all the clubs from 04s to younger? C'mon man, there are quality kids in every club. To think that PWSI, VSA or CYA do not have 11 players between them is what is actually delusional. And just like Loudoun and FCV the rest will come from other places.

Some Loudoun or FCV kids may choose VDA because it might actually be closer now for a quality league.

Presumably FCV has the most to lose by letting talent walk over not sending strong messages to current players by not locking them up sooner?

Fcv has too much talent because of the merger and can't accommodate..they will lose talent regardless...who will be smart enough to pickup the overflow

The FCV ECNL 04 team and the Loudoun Red 04g team will beat every team in the state and have a record of successfully competeting on a national level. They are about the get combined. Where is the overflow going? Think about that...about 16-18 kids...

Fcv don't have ECNL anymore. They have whatever this is. My daughter is on an FCV ECNL group. We have already reached out to Braddock. In fact 3-4 of our current group have reached out to them.

Except remember that the FCV players may not have the loyalty their club is expecting ...

04G has an established "record of successfully competing on a national level"???????
Not just saying FCV or Loudoun, but how can you even say that at that age?

Parents loyalty is to their kid...not the club.....better look in the mirror if it's the other way around

FCV 04s compete on a ECNL schedule....do everything but college showcase. Loudoun Red have competed against stars..pda...tophat...etc....national caliber talent.....how does that compare to Pwsi and Vsa 04's. You do know that 04s are 7th and 6th graders right. You do know that in a few years they will be HS right?

I was there and saw very few. 90 percent Pwsi and Vsa. Some FCV and Loudoun. Plus, you don't know what team they are on with there clubs or even if they are 04s considering 05s were there

I think we can agree that a second straight year of a complete reshuffling of the deck all over is gonna happen. Birth year last year and now this. "May you live in interesting times".

Enjoy this time with your kid and don't make it all about the chest-bumping. It goes by very fast. It's okay to just breathe and not to be constantly competing for that #1 claim. If that's your focus you will have a lot of disappointment along the way. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
