If yall are upset at football, wait till you find out about how basketball operates. Not just this area but the entire region from Richmond to Baltimore. Football is lightwork compared to basketball. At some schools having your best player transfer to the better program after their freshman or soph year is expected. AAU and private training runs crazy.

not for public school. The best players are getting recruited to play WCAC or for independent schools. No standout is transferring from one FCPS school to another, they're transferring to Paul VI or O'Connell on the boys side or Ireton on the girls

John Marshall in Richmond is public. And would probably beat most WCAC teams.

it helps when Boo Williams practices within your boundary

Hayfield added a bunch of transfers after their 32-0 basketball season a few years ago. Majority of their points in the championship game the following years were scored by transfers.

Kids with scholarships in hand whose parents couldn't easily afford tuition.

Not Boo Williams. He is in Virginia Beach. Team Loaded probably does.

The John Marshall coach runs Team Loaded. Most of their transfers and move-ins play for them before they come to John Marshall.

They beat PVI last year and PVI played in the national championship.

The 2-10 John Marshall team?

Same school but the basketball team probably won’t lose 10 games in the course of 4 years and that’s playing lots of nationally ranked teams.

If he was coaching in Fairfax County, they’d be talking about him worse than Overton. But this is what we potentially face when we travel to states.

We need statewide rules since we don’t stand a chance being super strict in NOVA, then when we see these schools at states we are going into a sloughterhouse.

Nah, probably not because his athletes actually abide by the district's rules. I might not agree with some of his methods, but he does abide by the letter of the rules.

Also, what is a "sloughterhouse"? Asking for a friend.

May as well start talking about basketball at this point. Our best chance at getting a championship in northern Virginia at this point is Tuscorora in Leesburg. They aren’t even likely to get through Varina and Phoebus.

I’m pulling for Madison but they will see a team in the finals that’s on a different level than any opponent they’ve faced this year.

Bringing kids in from out of state to play basketball is a violation of VHSL rules.

And take any local public school to play John Marshall and you will see what is.
