There were lots of news reports that Doria Ragland - Meghan's mother was meeting with Oprah prior to the wedding to discuss a documentary about the racist treatment she and her daughter were subject to. I can see how a wedding invitation would come from those meetings.

As for her celebrity friends, I think it's a positive they aren't commenting on Meghan's life. It shows they have her back. Serena Williams saying "no comment" and giving the tabloids no information on Meghan is a very obvious act of support.

Ah, right. Oprah got invited because she may have met Doria Ragland.

But nobody else from Doria's private life, no relative, no cousins, no aunts/uncles, no close friends, no best friend, no coworkers, nobody, was invited?

When I was a first-time mom, my kid probably looked awkward in the carrier too. She was long and fussy and I didn't know what I was doing. *shrugs

Mildly curious, when did Meghan meet Oprah for the first time? I don't care if it's a rumor either way but nothing kills a rumor as quickly as disproving it.

About 10 pages back there were a few posts talking about how the Markle half of the wedding was dominated with Hollywood names with no one from Meghan's childhood or family or school or even college years. The only person was her mother. Which, when one thinks about it, is a bit unusual. It does lend support to the theory that she's a social climber at heart.

I’ve never been to a royal wedding, but I’ve been to enough regular weddings to know that brides do not escort even their closest friends to their seat before the ceremony. Is that a custom in your culture? Kate certainly didn’t come out to seat anyone.

I too noticed that the baby was incredibly tall for an eight month old, but I still think it was him.

The baby did look pretty big for an 8 month old. I think he just shows how short she is. Not that he's a stand-in baby.

She's supposed to be 5'6 but she's probably closer to 5'4 based on how she looks next to Kate.

I was just thinking the same thing! So many moments when I hoped my neighbors weren't looking out their windows and thinking how ridiculous I probably looked. Don't get me started about the first time I took the dog and the baby out at the same time. Oy!
