Sometimes, I think if Meghan had caused a real scandal, the BRF would have been kinder to her. Instead, everyone got annoyed that she was doing her job better than they were.

Anne is widely regarded as the hardest working royal ever since the Queen slowed down.

Meghan did some things but not necessarily beyond the realm of royal duties nor frequency. I don't think the work she did or lack thereof (depending on your perspective) is the real issue here.

I work with a few Brits and I remember the same sentiment for Anne during the time of Princess Di. Basically, exasperated that Di was getting more press and attention than Anne who did far more. I think this will be the case with any royal who marries in vs. someone who was born in. They aren't as exciting or interesting bc we've seen them since they were a baby.

The guy who compared their baby to a chimpanzee was with BBC, which is not a member of the Royal Rota. He was swiftly fired.

How did her security not see the photographers? That alone would concern me as they seemed to be in the middle of nowhere. And how awkward to be on a walk with security behind you. This would make me uncomfortable.

I think William was jealous that Harry got a hot stunner who was a minor celebrity and was basically not stuck with waity-katie.

That sermon was absurd by any definition. Totally inappropriate and I couldn’t have kept a straight face either. I think William feels totally vindicated that not only can his wife handle royal life, she does so with grace and ease.

I don't think security can do anything about the photographers. They only protect M&H against actual physical contact. Since the photogs keep their distance, there isn't much that can be done. And this was a public park. And Meg isnt considered a private citizen so she relinquished her privacy

There were lots of news reports that Doria Ragland - Meghan's mother was meeting with Oprah prior to the wedding to discuss a documentary about the racist treatment she and her daughter were subject to. I can see how a wedding invitation would come from those meetings.

As for her celebrity friends, I think it's a positive they aren't commenting on Meghan's life. It shows they have her back. Serena Williams saying "no comment" and giving the tabloids no information on Meghan is a very obvious act of support.

Mildly curious, when did Meghan meet Oprah for the first time? I don't care if it's a rumor either way but nothing kills a rumor as quickly as disproving it.

About 10 pages back there were a few posts talking about how the Markle half of the wedding was dominated with Hollywood names with no one from Meghan's childhood or family or school or even college years. The only person was her mother. Which, when one thinks about it, is a bit unusual. It does lend support to the theory that she's a social climber at heart.
