Or, his staff realizes that Biden won't make it four years and that, with Kamala in office, Democrats will be in serious trouble. They should have thought of this last year. |

But how has she been a failure? How do we know Biden is pissed off? These are all rumors so far with nothing concrete to back it up. I’m honestly trying to understand if there really is a problem or if this is all hearsay and the game of Telephone. |

						Coms Director Etienne just quit!
This is turning into a 3 alarm dumpster fire. |

More to follow. Hope they get new people in that will tell it like it is and get the ship straight. |

But, what if the problem is the Captain and not the Executive Officer? |

There is zero chance that the sh*tstorm of negative Harris press in recent days wasn’t orchestrated by the WH. How has she been a failure? You must not be paying attention. The two signature assignments she’s been given by Biden, voting rights and the border crisis, have both worsened and Harris has done virtually nothing to advance them. She’s pissed that she’s been given difficult assignments but rather than rolling up her sleeves to address them she’s largely ignored them. She was supposed to be the young, energetic foil to Biden’s elderly statesmen but she’s been missing in action. She’s basically invisible save for the rare occasions when she’ll pop into the conversation and inevitably embarrass herself and the administration. |

Kamala is the problem. Her inflated ego is the virtual elephant in the room. |

Biden was picked by Obama because: 1) he wasn't a threat and Obama didn't want a strong VP (Delaware was not going to make or break the electoral vote), 2) Biden had a long history in the Senate as a broker of compromises and for much of his tenure he was a regular old moderate with friends on both sides of the aisle, which Obama could see playing well with the voters who were indeed a bit concerned about Obama's own lack of political expertise, and 3) Biden wasn't part of the Clinton machine, and the Clinton machine so dominated Democratic politics and Obama wanted to keep himself as removed from the Clintons as possible. An earlier poster pointed out that Biden is here today because of two black politicians: Obama and Clyburn. Without either, he'd have retired long ago to his memory care ward of an assisted living facility in Delaware. The point also remains that Harris was given plenty of opportunities to prove her mettle as a state attorney in California and then senator. She failed on both accounts and it is catching up with her. She is not and cannot ever be a national leader, she is terrible, to be frank. She is disastrous on the camera, she is prone to saying idiotic things that not even Biden does under his current mental condition, she has no real policy or platform of her own beyond being a token face for the Democrats. She's like the Meghan Markle of politics. One can get away with grifting with the right charm (hello Bill Clinton, and even Biden) or by proving your mettle in politics (Hillary Clinton), but she has neither the charm nor the politics. There's a distinct reason why her approval ratings are so bad, in the 20s! |
|
You would think Biden would want to keep her around since her approval ratings are even worse than his.
Guess not. But, Biden is not known for his good decision making. |

Some good analysis here, even, surprisingly, by the poster who credits HRC with some kind of ‘political mettle’.
But no poster has yet spoken the brutal truth: the Democrats of recent decades are an absolute disaster. Kamala is just at the vanguard of their terrible and long-lived dynamics. It’s always been easier for professional Democrats to play their stupid games (and reliably make them stupider) than it is to offer a mea culpa and re-direct themselves, or preferably just quit politics altogether and let a better crew take over. Kamala does suck and I say that as someone whose world collided with hers long ago. But I know it’s a mistake, and quite possibly the sexism and racism other posters have mentioned, to think she’s a great anomaly in the recent Democratic Party. Own it, folks! |

 Wow, great analysis! DP |
| The problem is that Harris wants to "be." Not "do." |

You can play the same game for Kamala in a identity politics neutral way as well: Kamala was picked: 1.) because she is one of the most progressive voting senators and Biden the "moderate" needed to shore up support across the party (2.) because she is young and Biden needed an energetic-seeming running mate to counteract claims that he is old and frail and 3.) because she came at the recommendation of Obama to whom Biden owed much of his political fortunes. Identity politics is the explanation of first impulse for Kamala whereas the neutral ones are the explanation for Biden. Ask yourself why? Why is the explanatory power of id pol for perceived deficiencies so natural and reflexive in the one instance and not the other? Yes, part of it is statements Joe made and his political calculus. But then again those statements and assumptions don't even need to be spoken in the context of picking someone like Joe because it is already back into the cake and normalized. He has always been the default. I don't think either of them are particularly gifted politicians, but that "impulse" and the weighting of identity politics is what Kamala defenders are pointing to. |
| We really don't need 36 pages of discussion to state the obvious:. Harris sucks and is a huge liability for the Democrats. |

Joe would have won with Michigan gov. Gretchen Whitmer. And Gretch would have been grinning ear to ear in Washington, not constantly trying to be the star of the show and kick Joe into a retirement home like conniving Kamala.
I think Joe's camp dumps Kamala for Stacey Abrams. Stacey is genuinely sharp and charming, Kamala is genuinely a documented idiot who makes my skin crawl. |
