DP. OMG - can you imagine her on SCOTUS? Her arguments would go on forever and say absolutely nothing. |
|
They both suck. Joe has one foot in the grave and Kamala slept her way to the the top in her 20s with an affair with a 60 year old mayor. Then she was selected, according to Joe, because she's a black female.
How did anyone think this was going to work out? She called him racist and his wife said she should f- off. This is embarrassing as a nation. Joe's people should have shut up and dealt with it. They created this mess and now they need to take their medicine. |
| So where did all of this negative, vague coverage come from? I’m seeing headlines about schisms and Biden distancing himself but no tangible examples of situations. It just seems extremely vague and gossipy. And this from left news orgs. What’s going on? |

Off of the coattails of two black men, first Obama and then Clyburn. And this, because the country was craving "normalcy" aka medicore white men. Someone like Kamala has never had the luxury of counting as "normal" in this country, esp. wrt Presidential politics. Any other questions? |

I would rather not. I'm trying to sleep well tonight. |

They're all leaking and positioning and trying to CYA and save face. Typical beltway stuff; not exactly a forthright and direct crowd. |
|
In light of all this, I would be super pissed if I were Macron. We sent the B team to meet with them over what they consider a major slight?
 Ugh. |

I blame Harris' CoS, Tina Flournoy - this stuff shouldn't be hitting the press.
And, the GOP is definitely exploiting Flournoy's mismanagement. |

Lol....how is the GOP exploiting a self own? Be smarter. |

She also performed poorly as a candidate. I’m guessing some of this leaking is payback for her debate comments about Biden and busing. |

Seriously. CNN has been the primary reporter of all of these negative Kamala Harris stories. But sure, the PP whines about it being “the GOP,” as usual.

I never suggested she didn't. The point is about framing. "Hiring because of skin color" rarely comes into the equation for Joe or his ilk because mediocrities like him have been normalized in this country for centuries and been granted much more leeway and bandwidth to fail and learn on the job and ascend through the ranks. The guy was literally hand held through the primaries and general election and had a "lay low, lest my weaknesses be uncovered" strategy pretty much throughout. How inspirational! What exactly is Joe's special talent? |

He wasn't Donald Trump, he was the most moderate of the Democrats in the primaries (or he sold himself as such) and he got the thumbs up from Clyburn that delivered him the black vote. Mediocre lifelong grifter of a politician? Yep, absolutely. But the set of circumstances in 2020 also tells you much of politics is all about being in the right place at the right time plus a good dose of luck. Just as it was luck for Harris to be the sole black female available with a semi-national profile and the events of 2020 demanded that Biden pick a black running mate. The problem with Harris is that while she got plenty of leeway throughout her political career in California and then as Senator, she still hasn't learned what it takes to deliver and be competent politician. Exactly how much more time does she need to "learn" what it takes to deliver? She coasted from victory to victory on identity politics grounds and guilt, taking advantage of the importance of symbolism rather than expertise or productivity and running in a state where Democrats have such an enormous inbuilt advantage that all it matters is having a D next to your name. Now her genuine lack of expertise and even outright capabilities is catching up with her. |

Those aren't special talents. They are reinforcements of the status quo and prevailing norms. You whole entire last paragraph could equally apply to Biden, except he's been at it for 50 years . It's just never framed as "identity politics" when it comes to a white male. Maybe that is the point Kamala defenders are trying to make?
Biden was picked by Obama because America wasn't fully ready for the black guy and needed the calming, familiar old white guy as a hedge. More identity politics. |
| Objectively she’s been an utter failure but it’s interesting that less than a year into her tenure she’s already managed to piss off the one person she can’t piss off……Biden. Think how fractured that relationship must be for the admin to put out hit pieces on her in the media. The guy polling at 38% thinks the gal polling at 28% may be dragging him down. |
