Phase 3. Indoor and outdoor water parks may open. Outdoor non-profit club pools remain open for lap swim and exercise only, 4 per lane for lap swim.

I also wonder if they got an exemption for Phase 2 in which case I’ll be really pi$$ed.

The only thing I'm wondering is, could waterparks be under a different category than the regular pool regulations? Like an amusement park, that happens to be wet?

OMG
I really hope not.

So according to my internet research,

Busch Gardens and Water Country USA calendars has them both opening on June 25.

Kings Dominion has nothing on their calendar...

If water parks are open and HOA pools are limited to lap swimming we will now we have a failed state.

I think it'd should help give air cover to HOA pools to open up and not worry about the doggy paddling clause.

we already do- with beaches, open to the public at large, no real capacity limits, and travelers from all over, open to rec swimming and HOA pools limited to lap swimming. When former bedding lady was explicitly asked about this on the webinar her answer was 'I wasn't involved in writing the beach regulations, and there were economic considerations involved.'

You would think. however I am still getting sh*t on here for saying our pool will be opening with no lap swimming only restrictions for Phase II.

We really are our own worse enemy.

Yeap, that was the comment on the webinar that made me realize this is all a joke.

And yet there are people on this site quoting her slides as if they are law backed by science.

Yep, I laughed out loud when I was listening and she said "economic considerations". Gee, do you think?

Massanutten doesn't have lobbyist in Richmond like Bush gardens, Kings Dominion and Great Wolf Lodge does.

Amazing how lobbying can change "science" in your favor if you are a water park

I didn't realize the virus made "economic considerations", good to know.

Yes! it only infects people doing activities that don't generate revenue for the commonwealth.

Olivia McCormick just emailed me and said GWL is not opening under Phase 2.

As phase 2 prohibits interactive water play features and recreational swimming, this type of facility can't operate in Phase 2.

Thank god the Bedding and Upholstery PM is there to save us.

Ok, so that must mean VA has told great wild
Lodge that they will (1) be in phase 3 next week and (2) phase 3 is back to normal swimming

I imagine she is not used to a lot of public controversy over her bedding and upholstery reign.
