Women who say they aren't voting on the single issue of abortion rights

Doubt it. When women just say enough is enough and refuse to have sex with them anymore, the men will just sleep with each other.

Sooo many forms of birth control.

I know women who managed to not get pregnant despite having sex. They probably used 2 forms at a time.

Yes, birth control is very important. We all know women who successfully use birth control millions do. We also all know women whose birth control has failed. We all know women that have been raped. We all know women whose pregnancies go sideways with any number of issues. And on and on and none of it is any of your business.

I’ve been having sex multiple times a week for decades and I’ve only gotten pregnant when I didn’t use birth control. I knew what I was doing. I’ve never had an abortion. It’s an archaic, irrelevant procedure. We might as well be arguing about the right to bleed out infections with leeches.

Then advocate for more women to get health care and birth control. Advocate for men to use protection. You’re lucky you were educated about using birth control and probably grew up in a culture that values planned pregnancy. Not everyone does.

Um they are trying to ban birth control too. What’s your next excuse?

It’s a blood cult.

Abortion has become a sacrament for some of these sick people. At the DNC they even had an abortion on demand truck. It is demonic how much they keep pushing abortion especially without limits. And you are right these are the same people who support young children taking irreversible puberty blockers and hormones, having sexually explicit books in schools, drag queens performing in front of kids etc. They argue as if they are morally superior when in reality they are promoting evil.

Ah there we have it. It the moral police.

Yes. And we are going to impose our morality on you, I guarantee you that. Just like we ban homicide, theft, etc.

How you going to do that?

Stay tuned!

You're working to ban abortion nationally?

Yes. That is the long play.

Please see Project 2025.

The only way they can get abortion banned in California or Connecticut is abolishing the filibuster. I don't see that happening.

No, Trump can unilaterally ban abortion in California by directing his AG to enforce the plain language of the Comstock Act. And that’s what will happen within his first 100 days if he is re-elected.

Very tiresome argument. From someone who probably would vote against free school lunches and free health and dental care for all children under 18. Yes, we know you would. Hypocrite.

Non responsive. My point is that many many people who lecture others about stupid social issue nonsense, those same people support the right to kill infants, defenseless babies, the most defenseless people in our society, at the viable stage of pregnancy. It’s really indefensible. I’m not saying this so you, as you at least support limits after visibility.

The vast majority of Americans including Democrats want to return to the standards of Roe which means abortion up to the point of viability and after that for threats to the mother's health, fetal abnormality, and rape (esp. in the case of children whose pregnancy might not be discovered until week 22 - still second trimester, by the way).

Ok let’s do it. But when republicans try restrictions like that they still get nuked by democrats and pro-choice extremists. And most women have bought the extreme position it seems.

Don't make us laugh. This WAS the standard across the country before anti-abortionists started reducing access to abortion and making all patients get vaginally wanded before an abortion, even minor children, forcing them to look at ultrasounds, forcing them to have a waiting period that many poor women couldn't afford. Republicans have been plotting the demise of abortion access for years and years. They are NOT interested in sticking with the Roe standard and you know it. We all know it. That is so incredibly disingenuous of you to state. Makes you sound like a troll.

Was it the standard in NY, CA, Mass?

Medical professionals could decide together with the patient.

You know damned well that abortion on demand for convenience was available in many blue states up into the last trimester.

Isn't lying like this amoral as well? You're a religious fanatical hypocrite, yeah?

They're are like 3 doctors in the US who even do this, it costs up to 25k, and they're are long lists for people in really tragic circumstances to get this kind of care. The books might allow for this in certain states but the reality is, 3rd trimester abortions for "convenience" are not a thing.

Something often stated but simply not true.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9321603/#:~:text=I%20find%20two%20pathways%20to,continue%3B%20and%20barriers%20to%20abortion%2C

From your article:
wherein the respondent was in the third trimester by the time she was able to surmount the obstacles to abortion she faced, including cost, finding a provider, and stigmatization.

So what this is indicating is that if these women had earlier access to abortion, they wouldn't have had a third trimester abortion. Sounds like that's on conservatives. Sounds about right - cons are driving the third trimester abortions on healthy fetuses by putting up too many obstacles for women who would want one much earlier in their pregnancy.

It disproves the idea that third trimester abortions are solely for fetal abnormalities and “tragic circumstances” and previously claimed. No, they simply are not, and the published literature has been clear on this for over a decade. You’re changing the subject to deflect.

Again - take responsibility. Would these abortions have happened so late if conservatives hadn’t put up so many barriers for women seeking abortions? No. They would not have.

We know this is one of the things anti-abortionists want. They want to prevent women from getting abortions early on and then they say oops, too late. That is your modus operandi. So yes I blame such abortions on anti-abortionists.

Who cares who you blame? The point is that elective third trimester abortions exist and have existed, despite the false claims on this board. Another example was provided of a woman who didn’t know about her pregnancy earlier, had nothing to do with early abortion options.

Own it.

Trump is going to have consequences for overturning Roe. That is how it is going to be. Makes no difference if you agree or disagree.

That must be why he is leading in the polls lol.

You can lol all day and night. He will pay a price for overturning Roe. It was one of the most unpopular actions ever done by any president ever. That will be reflected in the election as it should be.

Whatever. If this were as big a concern for voters as you wanted it to be, Kamala would be leading nationally and in swing states. She isn’t. So by definition, your viewpoint isn’t as widely shared as you pretend it is. That’s just data.

Get some of your data from the latest elections in 2022 and beyond. Those are actual votes in actual elections for actual candidates and propositions.

You mean the 2022 midterm election that Democrats lost? Democrats lost an election right after Roe was overturned, yet there is now supposed to be a massive surge of new single issue abortion rights voters two years later?

You make the mistake of believing all voters or all women share your mindset and priorities. You’re wrong:
1) No poll shows abortion to be the biggest issue in the election. I’ve seen polls that indicate it’s the biggest concern of Democrat voters, but Democrat voters don’t make up the entire electorate.
2) Trump didn’t overturn Roe. He nominated judges, who were then approved by the Senate to be Supreme Court justices. The Supreme Court justices decided the case.
3) Trump has not proposed a national abortion ban, and many people have resigned themselves to the belief that this is an issue to be decided in the states.
3) I am a woman who voted for Trump. My biggest concerns are the economy and immigration. For me, Biden and Harris’s decision to open our border to massive illegal immigration was one of the worst and most unpopular decisions ever. That’s a big reason why I voted against her. Not all women share your mindset and priorities.

That poster falsely tried to claim Democrats won the 2022 midterm election because of the abortion issue, when they actually lost the 2022 midterm election. They were down in the popular vote by 2.8%. I don’t deny that he will lose some votes over the issue, but it’s not the decisive issue you claim it to be. He has some big issues like the economy and immigration that favor him.

Of course there are women that vote for Trump, but it's a minority position .

The Democrats are gaining women. The GOP may be gaining men. This is the game. Women are more likely to get out there and vote than men and that has been true for a long time. In a gender gap election you want to be getting the women, not the men.

For women to be boiling an entire presidential election down to the minuscule number of women who seek abortions in instances of rape and incest is evidence of how terribly wrong we go when we think ideologically instead of critically. There are serious issues facing our country and our world that frankly are far more important than this red herring. As women--and girl dads--you should be standing up against the men who think they can claim they're women and take away opportunities, while demeaning and parodying us along the way. With all this frivolousness, our country is getting weaker and weaker. Stop being narrow-minded, one-issue voters, think critically, and vote the way that supports all the issues that are important to you and our country. Do not be afraid of speaking out against the war on women.

It’s a blood cult.

Of course there are women that vote for Trump, but it's a minority position .

The Democrats are gaining women. The GOP may be gaining men. This is the game. Women are more likely to get out there and vote than men and that has been true for a long time. In a gender gap election you want to be getting the women, not the men.

I am a woman who refuses to vote for the side that allows men to demean us, parody us, then threaten our opportunities, while also invading our private spaces. No thanks. That's the single issue that is going to cause many women secretly to vote for Trump. Just wait and see.

Overturning roe is going to hurt Trump in the 2024 presidential election. When you try to deny that fact, you sound like a complete idiot.

The poster claimed that he would lose the election because of abortion.

The Red Tsunami turned into the Red Fart over the abortion issue.
