Spanberger holds wide lead in Virginia governor’s race, Post-Schar School poll finds

Spanberger, a former congresswoman, leads Earle-Sears, the state’s lieutenant governor, by 12 percentage points, 55 percent to 43 percent, among Virginia’s likely voters in the Nov. 4 election. Spanberger holds a similar 13-point lead among registered voters overall, who say the economy is by far the most important issue heading into the election.

The latest poll has Sears pulling within the margin of error. I wouldn't put much confidence in a Washington Post poll.

I’ve never heard of A2 Insights and there are two spelling errors in that Washington Times graphic. Sad!

TONS of signs for spanberger.
Lots of various delegates.
Some for miyares.
Very few for sears.

In areas that were yugely Trump and Youngkin in the past.

It’s the rural places that have a confederate flag and a winsome sears sign that baffle me. It seems . . . Inconsistent?

I definitely did not see that. Very few Sears signs.

I saw a lot of Sears signs in part of Arlington, Vienna and Oakton within last week.

In people’s yards? Which neighborhoods?

I’d like to know too since I live in Oakton and travel frequently to Vienna and have seen no such thing.

Because the PP is full of sht.

I have seen zero Sears signs in yards in Arlington.

There aren't many Sears signs anywhere.

Republicans are not voting for that shit.

Anyone with brain cells right now won't vote for one Republican for god's sake we have military in our streets wire ties on kids and Republcians are traitors. Who the hell voted for Stephen Miller to rule the country???

That's probably because the Trumpy guy down the street is hoarding all of them. He has festooned his entire yard with them.

“What we saw was a full-fledged military operation conducted on the south side of Chicago against an apartment building,” he added.

“They just treated us like we were nothing,” Pertissue Fisher, a U.S. citizen who lives in the apartment building, told ABC7 Chicago in an interview soon after the raid. She said she was then handcuffed, held for hours, and released around 3 a.m. This was the first time she said a gun was ever put in her face.

Neighbor Eboni Watson, who witnessed the raid, also told the ABC station that the children were zip-tied—some of them were without clothes—when they were taken out of the residential building by federal agents. “Where’s the morality?” Watson said she kept asking during the raid.

“As a father, I cannot help but think about what it means for a child to be torn from their bed in the middle of the night, detained for no reason other than a show of force,” National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) president Derrick Johnson said in a statement. “The trauma inflicted on these young people and their families is unconscionable."

Maybe. You forget that the candidate was the extremely uninspiring Terry McAuliffe who said he didn’t think parents should be telling schools what to teach kids - during the prolonged COVID shutdown. And Youngkin still only won by 50.5% to 48%. A squeaker.

He wasn’t wrong…

She’s an awful candidate and I don’t know how she got all the way to Lt. Governor in the first place.

When she was first running she made comments about vaccines that make RFK look like a science champion. She thinks vaccines are a hoax. Youngkin appointed a health commissioner we can rely on. It’s thanks to that person that vaccines have been accessible throughout this mess with the FDA and the CDC. Winsome would appoint what they have in Florida; a totally unfit quack.

Winsome is running a very poor campaign but everyone knows Spanberger is a progressive in disguise.

I mean, what’s the purpose of this thread? Spanberger is going to win. It may not be a landslide but she has a solid lead that — unless she does something as stupid as Jason Miyares (which I find unlikely) — won’t erode.

Spanberger isn’t very exciting but at least she’s a pragmatist and moderate. I’m guardedly optimistic with her at the helm next year.

Please, Spanberger is about as moderate of a Dem that currently exists and represents a deep purple district.
