Is the Board going to take the time to read through evidence and listen directly from complainants? They have declined to do so in the past.
I find it so galling how Silvestre is complaining (and McKnight has similarly complained) about how this is affecting them and how distracting this is. They messed up, big time. This is their doing. And they haven't even said they're sorry.
They should step down.

God, this is frustrating. The problem was never a lack of information about bad principals, it was a lack of action taken by MCPS leadership as a result of that information.

They are very obviously avoiding admitting that they did anything wrong.

It’s obvious to the whole world that they have been asleep at the wheel. They allowed complaints to systematically be ignored. They also knowingly led a school system that deletes emails after a year to cover up their own complicity. Shame on Silvestre and McKnight.

They should resign.

What has been the transparency and accountability that Silvestre and McKnight promised in August?

I have to believe this person is trolling, but it's also important to knock down disinformation when it rears its head.

Dr. McKnight served as Director of Secondary Leadership Development from 2016-2018, returning in 2019 as Deputy Superintendent. In both roles she would have been in the chain of commeand for the myriad complaints about the Beidleman matter.

She became Acting Superintendent in July 2021, and assumed the permanent role in February 2022. Beidleman was promoted to principal in June 2023, almost two years after Dr. McKnight assumed the Superintendent role.

Alexandra Robbins here. I have a question I hope to ask you off the record. You can reach me through my website at alexandrarobbins.com or, if you're more comfortable, to my attention via Nicole Asbury's email at The Post. Thank you!

Of course not. If they really wanted more access to complaints they would have had it by now but they couldn’t even be bothered to make sure their policies were being followed.

NP - Principals supervise APs and Directors supervise the principals underneath them. It’s easy to find who these key supervisors for Biedleman were. There’s a pattern of at least one of these supervisors moving quickly up the ranks in MCPS at the same time the complaints were being made and Beidleman was promoted from AP to Principal at Farquhar then Principal at Paint Branch.

The BOE promised to release a plan to fix the problems that Jackson Lewis identified last week. Is that out anywhere? McKnight seemed to say she was now waiting on the IG.

What is the source for this? She was still tweeting from QO today.

She's not on leave, this is untrue.

Shame on him for saying that, and propogating the idea that

1) She wasnt a senior MCPS leader prior to her promotion to superintendent

2) THat she didnt greenlight his promotion to one of the 20 some HS principal jobs.

Totally agree. She's been in a major leadership role of one type or another at mcps for years. It's beyond the pale to pass that off as the excuse. It needs to be made crystal clear where the breakdown in communication and leadership happened. Who knew of the many complaints and when? Does the process really allow for the superintendent and board to be uninformed if there are complaints, if that is what they seem to be suggesting happened? Who knew of the complaints and was complicit in still furthering this man's career? At some point people need to be fired - you cannot reform such a lack of empathy and leadership, especially in a f'in PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM.

Clearly, she wasn't involved in the details but people bent on maligning her don't care.

Clear as what? Mud? How on earth have you decided she wasn’t involved and/or had details kept from her? She has been in a variety of high-ranking roles.

Do you really believe the BOE anymore? Silvestre also promised transparency and accountability. The BOE has already forgotten about that promise as well.

That’s the problem. She wasn’t plugged in at all. When an organization has multiple serious failures in critical functions — which is what happened in MCPS, according to its own defense lawyer — the problem starts at the top.
