Yes, segregation in Montgomery County is a problem for STUDENTS, but it's also not reasonable for teachers to expect to be able to afford million+ homes. Bethesda and Potomac schools have zero trouble retaining teachers, so really, it's not a problem for teachers.

It is a bit bizarre that the BOE and the County Council are like a1950s married couple. The men on the Council decide how much money the women on the BOE can spend. I blame the low BOE salaries.

I also think it would be helpful if the BoE salaries were higher. It's basically a full-time job for $25,000 per year.

It's not that men aren't interested in running. Three men were on the ballot in 2020. But the candidates preferred by the voters happened to be women.

Dr. McKnight and the Board of Ed should have prioritized the COVID response in the midst of an upswing in cases over vacations for school administrators. Their agenda shows how low on the totem pole of priorities are the well-being and education of students - many of whom experienced learning loss during the previous 18 months of online learning. Terrible planning and leadership of the school system.

Dr.McKnight is not a public health specialist and should not be responsible for deciding if schools need to close which should only occur if everything else (restaurants, bars, stores) is shut down.

Because behind the Apple Ballot is the Teacher's Union and they only care about the teachers. No one is looking out for students because the MCPS leadership and the Teacher's Union are in bed together. What organized group is really looking out for the students besides the local PTSAs?

Most us support teachers and it sounds resent public education, teachers, and unions.
