What’s going on with the two bills?

Nothing in BBB is going to cut my costs at all. Once again sticking it to the UMC. No thanks.

Completely false. You clearly don't actually know what's in it. Just parroting right wing propaganda.

Do enlighten me. Or link me to an article that explains how this lowers my expenses. I've read many articles on bills, from reliable sources such as WaPo and NYT and other than potentially lifting the SALT cap (not definite either) I haven't seen a single thing that will help me.

Pp, BBB is meant to help the country writ large. When everyone does well we all do well. If childcare costs go down or kids can start pre-school sooner, more women can work. That helps the economy and that helps YOU. One day you may find yourself reliant on Medicare and may need to see a dentist. Wouldn’t it be great to not have to a) eat baby food due to lack of teeth or b) deplete your savings/you offsprings savings so you can eat Thanksgiving dinner? And don’t say you would “never” be in that situation. Life is unpredictable.

Without a significant tax increase on the wealthy and a guarantee of not lifting the SALT cap, there’s no way I’ll support this. Don’t give me any of that trickle-down nonsense either.
If the money was to be found elsewhere, by defunding DoD for example, I would definitely get on board though.

No. The BBB bill is intended to grow government, make more people reliant on government, and seize power.
The American people generally see through this crap. That is why support for it has waned.

Link that support for it has waned?

Every poll I have seen shows it in the mid 60% range in favorability.

If you were a congressman that would matter, but you’re not. You’re someone who wants to tax other people, but have no real power to do so. I’m glad Manchin is stepping in to stop sky high tax rates. Economics is a funny thing. You can’t always tax your way out of every problem.

It has no hope of passing with your constraints.

I despise the CTC and would never support the bill with that in. But I don’t get a vote (not directly any way.)

If you want to keep government spending down let’s start with the military. If you want to keep you local taxes down let’s start with the police.

Well then I guess I support those who stand in the way of it’s passage.

Not to mention the poll was absurd in its questions.

“Senator Joe Manchin has said he opposes President Biden’s current multi-trillion dollar spending proposal before Congress. Senator Manchin says the country cannot afford to spend that much money and instead favors proposals that better control government spending. Do you agree or disagree Senator Manchin should oppose President Biden’s multi-trillion dollar spending proposal?”

No, that’s not phrased at all to get people to oppose BBB. The whole poll reads like it was commissioned by Manchin’s camp.

It is what is known as a "push poll" and their results are completely meaningless.

Probably because Manchin is feeling the heat from his constituents who are actually informed and understand the benefits that BBB will confer to WV and to America.
