This is actuall a bad news no? The IRS is supposed to bring in net of $400 billion tax money. The CBO reports says only $127 billion.

CBO estimates that enacting this legislation would result in a net increase in the deficit totaling $367 billion over the 2022-2031 period, not counting any additional revenue that may be generated by additional funding for tax enforcement.

Not really. The BBB will ultimately reduce the deficit, per the CBO report. Revenue is greater than outlays

Ways & Means provisions: reduce deficit by $798B ($411B spending, $1,209B revenue)

IRS provisions: reduce deficit by $127B ($80B spending, $207B revenue)

Democrats need to tout this as a deficit reduction bill, which tends to poll really well with all voters. Bring out the big guns and hammer this over and over.

Are you dumb? This only shows the revenue side. The total expense is bigger than the total revenue estimate by about $240 billion.

So the CBO score is $367B. CBO score for trump tax cuts was $1.455T. The deficit scolds in the GOP can go suck it.

Bye bye backdoor Roths and hello to tax increases on those of us who don’t earn enough or have big enough houses to make use of SALT.

No tax increases on under 400K! Lie. Nice trick not indexing that 400K, where they really start hammering you, for inflation til 2029 either. Because we all know there’s no inflation and it’s super temporary.

All Republicans are a NO. First public Dem to be a NO. Two more nos and it fails to even leave the House.

BBB should pass tonight unless the Democrats lose any more votes. Jared Golden just announced he won’t vote for it due to SALT.

Add in the revenue from the IRS and it is a net positive, so ^^^^ x a billion.

SALT in or out? Can anyone explain.

Nothing in BBB is going to cut my costs at all. Once again sticking it to the UMC. No thanks.

Completely false. You clearly don't actually know what's in it. Just parroting right wing propaganda.

Do enlighten me. Or link me to an article that explains how this lowers my expenses. I've read many articles on bills, from reliable sources such as WaPo and NYT and other than potentially lifting the SALT cap (not definite either) I haven't seen a single thing that will help me.

Pp, BBB is meant to help the country writ large. When everyone does well we all do well. [b]If childcare costs go down or kids can start pre-school sooner, more women can work. That helps the economy and that helps YOU
. One day you may find yourself reliant on Medicare and may need to see a dentist. Wouldn’t it be great to not have to a) eat baby food due to lack of teeth or b) deplete your savings/you offsprings savings so you can eat Thanksgiving dinner? And don’t say you would “never” be in that situation. Life is unpredictable.

We are a society. Please try to see beyond your own personal and shortsighted needs.

Pffft. Our family isn’t eligible for any of that, we aren’t poor enough. Women who are eligible will probably be working multiple low-compensation, zero benefit jobs. Get real.
