Posts with random capitalized letters and lack of supporting links from reputable sources like CDC, WHO, etc., should really be deleted.

This is a bomb, going off in slow motion, setting off other bombs at an accelerating pace.
Containment is no longer possible. There will be a global pandemic. The goal now is to slow down the explosion(s) as much as possible so scientists can better understand the virus and so a vaccine can be developed in the next few years. It won't be the Black Death, which killed one third of Europe's population, or even the Spanish flu, but it's gonna be bad until a vaccine can be developed. |

Haven't really seen many of those here. But preparing for some societal disruption is probably a smart thing to do. I'm still holding out hope that the virus doesn't like warm temperatures (all the big outbreaks have been in places where temps are <60 so we might catch a break in the U.S. and it'll give them time to develop a vaccine. |

CDC, WHO etc are really behind the curve on news. The most up to date and reliable news is coming out of BNO News and some of the news agencies. That said, I'd rather not have the prepping, should I go to Chinese restaurants posts here as there is a prepping thread on the Money and Finance Forum. But I imagine those posting here on these things probably have never been to that forum, so it's tolerable. I just skip over the posts. |

Italian authorities have put a migrant rescue ship in quarantine in Sicily, the Interior Ministry said Sunday, as the number of coronavirus cases in Italy shot up over 130.
The Ocean Viking is a migrant rescue NGO vessel with 274 migrants aboard, according to Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), also known as Doctors without Borders. Wuhan authorities are ordering all recovered COVID-19 patients into 14-day quarantine after finding that some recovered patients are still testing positive and capable of infecting others.

UK authorities have announced that 4 of the 32 British and Irish nationals evacuated from the Diamond Princess have tested positive.

BNO is saying that now 36 people from the Diamond Princess cruise ship are in serious condition.
I have lost count how many patients they even have but it seems more and more of the staff now are testing positive in Japan and abroad. So far 3 deaths but the serious cases in ICU are getting more numerous, as would be expected as it is about 3 weeks now since they started getting infected. Here's the link to the BNO Twitter post. | Russia is likely far worse than the numbers. Same with Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines. Taiwan is likely legitimately low due to how hard it is for Chinese citizens to go there. |
