Prince Philip has died...

I can't wait until this is covered in the Crown. I know it'll be spectacular.

Add his age when he married and the years he was married to the Queen and it adds up to 99.

Coincidence?

99
9+9 = 18
1+8 = 9

OMG! Somebody call Stockholm! NOW! PP's revolutionary addition formula deserves Noble Price!

And while you will be dialing, you may just as well let the Pope know a miracle had happened cause few random numbers added up to 99!

This is either a metaphysical breakthrough or the PP found a proof of god.s existence. Might be much.. much bigger discovery then God's particle.

In any case, this has to be addressed IMMEDIATELY! or the universe will collapse onto itself!

Those seven days between now and funeral are going to be something,

Looks like all the "loyal" subjects and wsubject wannabies are going to spend this time elbow deep in pile of palace dirty loundry searching for any meat on the bone of gossip, whatever they can find or imagine.

A 99 year old man died. chapter of his life and history of the world closed.
Instead of respectful reflection rhe gossip machinery went to work overtime?

This is nothing short of phenomenon letting people come to terms with their own grief and reflect on their own mortality.

Could the funeral take place earlier considering it all had neen rehearsed. planned and all involved are ready...

But looks like world needs moments like this and while most could not care less about royalty, even those enjoy circuling over death royal.

Anyone coming in from overseas needs to quarantine at least 5 days and test negative. If they did it earlier then Harry would not be able to attend.

Considering their...resentment...of Harry - what makes you think the entire royal family is willing to hold up the funeral just for him?

They could technically just hold it on Tuesday and be done with it. There's no fanfare and Phillip's not actually being buried in the ground until the Queen dies.

So what's the hold up?

Black tie or armband while mourning
Black suit for funerals.
Really, people catch up now.

Seems defiant. Black full-wear like his siblings in the official 8 days of mourning. Black armbands in the full 30 (now 15 because...who knows)

They don’t want to honor the full 30 days of mourning because it would overlap with William and Kate’s anniversary and Charlotte’s birthday. Yes, really. William is that self absorbed.

I know. I wonder what they intend to do for the anniversary 7 days after the official mourning period has cut off. Its not like they can have a wild celebration anyway.

They had a bunch of events planned. It was definitely designed to pivot attention back to William and away from Harry. He must be so annoyed to be overshadowed by yet another member of his family.

What events? Why would a 10-year wedding anniversary be remarkable to anyone other than the couple in question?

I don't think The Crown is planning to come up to the present day, although I wish it would.

Of all the actors/characters in it, the one who play Charles has the most uncanny likeness. Even his voice sounds like Charles.

They said that true - they plan to stop at round 2001 or so. After Diana's death and before 'the boys' went off to college or Camilla married in.

But I think Netflix will pick it back up if for the sole reason that the Crown is their most profitable outlet. If they have to wait until 2030 to do so, so be it. It'll give them more content anyway.

Y

William is almost 40. Not a spring chicken. Acting like 10th anniversary at their age is some sort of emergency is plain childish. And the KID's birthday? Phleeeeese......

Hysterical existential problems,

It’s not Harry they resent; it’s Harry that resents them for not following the playbook that Meghan said would work.

Resentment? It’s quite unlikely that the entire royal family resents Harry, and the ones who might are not the ones in charge — yet.

Ha! Meghan wasn't there long enough to form a relationship.

True. But I think he found Kate vacuous and stupid. Meghan was interesting and intelligent.

Not at all. Philip’s biographer, Ingrid Seward, said that Philip admired Kate’s athletic abilities and her support of William whilst in the military and then as an air ambulance pilot. Kate’s paternal grandfather was a decorated World War II pilot who few Philip on part of a Commonwealth tour. Two of her aunts also worked at Bletchley, and both Philip and the Queen felt that kinship of war veterans with Kate’s family.

Seward also wrote that Philip was polite to Meghan, but likened her to Wallis Simpson when she and Harry wanted one foot in the royal family and one foot in the States. Philip noted that Diana Spencer and Sarah Ferguson tried what he called the same shenanigans and he shut them out. The Queen refused to allow Philip to attend the Sandringham meeting when Charles, William, and Harry worked out the details of the Sussex’s stepping down. He had likened Meghan too frequently to the other American divorcée — someone the Queen also disliked because of the effect her husband’s abdication had on the Queen and her family.

After that meeting, Meghan was done and dusted with the Queen and Philip.

All I have to say about Ingrid is that she gave Charles a blowjob in the 60s and is about as qualified to be a biographer as my dog.
