More defections from DA to ECNL

Majority of your kids have more respect and less ignorance than many posters here.

The bashing of each other based on assumptions of where your allegiance lies (DA vs ECNL vs Travel vs Rec vs etc etc etc) is really pathetic. On an anonymous message board too.

You sound like a parent of a young player. You dont know what you're taking about.

Ecnl is not structured the same way it was 3 or 4 years ago.

The boys DA is a failed system. No need to repeat it. Enjoy

You actually sound like a parent who is new to ECNL. In no way before DA were ECNL coaches pumping HS school soccer. In fact it was easier to threaten kids that their spot will be gone because with ECNL being the only game in town many kids were just waiting in the wings.

But now that there is competition ECNL is pumping the nostalgia card of HS soccer. Exactly what does that say about their league when they have to push concession stands and pregame music of something they are not even involved with?

Why doesn’t ECNL just say “ECNL, pay for10 months but train for 6 months”

DA is failing on the boys. Why will it work for the girls?

There will be Spirit DA teams next year. Stop this nonsense.

You are right, there will be Spirit teams next year. that being said, there is alot of smoke about the Spirit divesting it's youth programs which include the DA. Generally when there is as much smoke as is out there, there are often flames somewhere. I would guess that 2019-2020 would be a transition type season to where by 2020-2021 the DAs would either be dissolved or run by other clubs (Baltimore Armour clearly in MD and likely GF/R if US Soccer allowed them in VA). I hope I am wrong as having a DA tied to the area's 1 NWSL team makes a ton of sense.

My kid played in both. Back when ECNL and HS played concurrently. That's doesnt happen now. Do you understand that? Splitting time between HS and ECNL was frowned upon because of overload...hence the change.

In general, the highest level club soccer is better than the highest level high school soccer. However, I bet three things:

Your childs 04 team (ECNL or DA), will not beat her high school team.

Your childs 03 tean (ECNl or DA) will be on par with her club team

Your childs 02 team (ECNL or DA) will be better than her high school team

On average

For the 04 and 03 ECNL kids, HS is a challenge. Make no mistake about it. The quality may not be as good, but the challenges are....and that my friend is player development...mentally and physically.

Just curious. Have you received confirmation from staff that Spirit will be running their VA DA teams in that same manner next year? If so, an announcement may be beneficial.

So your telling me that 20 league games, just league games, not showcases, but league games in the the fall season is not overload? Because that is how they "balanced" the schedule to accommodate HS Soccer. They just overloaded the fall. Add in the number of fall ECNL showcases and that is overload.

what DA team is playing 20 league games from Sept to December? Its practically MAY and most DA teams are at 18 games played now. Many are at only 15 or so so far.

Very confused by all this. Im a 2008 parent here (be gentle) im naive so if I want to try out for Washington Spirit later in VA, will it not exist anymore? Great falls WILL be WSVA? Im really confused by the comments should I just go to ECNL when the time comes? Seems like a war out here and im a deer in a headlights.

DA will exist- but which club they are affiliated with is the question right now

There are two other DA clubs in the area if you are worried, FCV and Arlington. That's not to say I think Spirit is going anywhere, but so that you know the DA is bigger than one club.

Correct, ECNL have teams who have played 20 league games in the fall. But that isn't overload, it is simply adjusting for HS School soccer so that they can play 19 games in 3 months. So, a perfectly healthy schedule overall.

Everytime I look on the Spirit FB page, the pro players are hanging out with the BRYC players and not Spirit DA kids. Wouldn't surprise me if Larry is trying to give BRYC the DA

Is this like back when you were here telling us that FCV was going to assume control of Spirit and the FCV girls would just take the Spirit badge and put it on their shirts??

SMH at the continued BS posted about Spirit here, as many others have stated.
