If things get worse for Jewish people

Let’s be honest about who is saying these things - it is Muslims. There are a lot of Muslim taxi drivers and Uber delivery people. We have to be honest about where the antisemitism is coming from right now it’s coming from Muslims the same as in Europe. Steve Bannon was right. The antisemitic events happening in France and England right now are all from Muslim refugees or immigrants. It’s true. I’m not Jewish but I see the news I see who is protesting most of them are wearing hijabs.

Is it not true that late populations in both groups have been raised to hate/fear each other? Muslim groups are hosting pro-Palestinian rallies (as makes sense and the same way Jewish groups are hosting pro-Israel rallies) and no doubt that attracts anti-Semitic members. But I also see Islamophobia from the Jewish community - Amy Schumer seems to equate all Palestinians with Hamas, or the Jewish college girl who went viral after having a basic interaction with a neighbor then claiming she was terrified he wanted to kill her bc he was Palestinian.

No one taking part in 9/11 cared if the victims were Jews. Those that think they are immune should remember that.

The hostage pictures are stupid in the first place and are just marketing

The hostages aren’t in Philly! So why put them up in Philly?

I’ve never understood the hostage flyers

You don’t have to understand it. But don’t tear them down.

No, they clearly are not meant to “help find this kid” since the kid isn’t in Philly

So I could care less if they are torn down or not. They clearly have ulterior motives - these aren’t milk carton advertisements

I’m all for putting up flyers if these abductees are here

For those all upset about the posters being taken down this (the above) PLUS there is a flash of anger among Palestinians that so many more of them have been killed since Israel’s founding since Israelis humanizing these kidnappings is a slap in the face PLUS the posters are often often illegally on telephone poles or outside on private buildings.

Why is this anger always everyone else's problem?

I wonder what the cause of it could be?

Serious question - if you were forcible removed from your home by authorities, and your family killed before your eyes, would you be angry? Or would you calmly and peacefully walk away after you had just been wronged in the most violently horrific way?

Knowing Americans, I can say with 100% certainty that they would not peacefully walk away when slaughtered by a foreign government coming to take their land.

They're angry because they're being murdered. I believe that would upset you, too

Is this what you learned in college?

No it's not true.
jews don't hate muslims at ALL. In most places, jews and muslims gravitate together. In london, both groups live in the same area.
Israel is not 'jews' and Palestinians do not equal 'all muslims'. this conflict is just making it so bc gen z is too lazy to learn history

One of the largest supporters of Jews and Israel is none other than Steve Bannon

I am liberal but I must say from what I’m hearing and reading and seeing on TV the Republicans are way more supportive of Jewish people and Israel then Democrats. Biden is doing a good job and trying to walk a fine line by not upsetting either side too much but the Republicans are speaking out so far if I were Jewish which I am not I would feel much safer with Republicans in power.

They always have been. Bannon, Posobiec, even the hated Mike Lindell. It’s all been a lie. I’ve been to many CPACs and there are people wearing Yarmulkes everywhere. Never been an issue. I’ve been to Trump rallies where there are many of mixed ethnicities and the only people escorted out are white supremacists - come in with a message of hate and security doesn’t even have to do it - regular “MAGAS” as they are called - ensure you leave on your own accord. Civil people who clean up after themselves. Did you know that there are still people incarcerated without trial for over a year who “participated” in 1/6? In our country of due process. Very sad state. Every night, despite being beat up when they do it, there is a mass singing of our National Anthem by those incarcerated for 1/6. Every night.

You’ll never convince me to vote for the GOP.

This is Islamophobic and you are promoting the distrust of Muslims cabbies and delivery people. Muslims are your neighbors, doctors, plumbers, etc. Do not "other" them. This is what leads to hate crimes.

And people can protest peacefully. Do not equate peaceful protests with antisemitism. There have been many protests in the US the last few weeks and very few had any incidents. By and large they have been peaceful.

I can’t really understand the need some people have to rip them up. Are people who do this just miserable?

I was the OP of the thread about being concerned about suppression/retaliation of pro-palestine speech. There should be zero issue with the hostage posters, clearly the point is to call attention to the fact that there are 200 plus hostages still kidnapped with Hamas. We do not get to choose the speech that we want highlighted or permitted just because it fosters our own personal or political agenda.

+1 We need to humanize the hostage. Dead Palestinians, not so much

Who said not to humanize dead Palestinians?

Have you seen any posters of dead or missing Palestinian kids? When you see news reports, do you see the kind of background stories on Palestinian kids that you do on the hostages? You see wailing parents carrying a body and that's about it.

People could choose to make posters for Palestinians who have been killed.

It’s telling to me that pro-Palestinian posters do not do that. Instead, they just rip down posters for the hostages.

Well, for one those being killed and starved in Gaza have more important things to worry about than sending photos of their dead to friends and family in the US to make posters.

Also, I’ve commented before on this board that my Muslim friends here are afraid of identifying as Muslim for fear of retaliation. So there is no way they are putting up a poster like that or any other support of Palestine publicly. Plus support of Palestinians has been twisted to mean someone must hate Jewish people and they don’t and don’t want to be associated with that.

Why are they afraid? A boy has been killed, his mother stabbed, at least two people fired from their jobs. Plus after 9/11 many Muslims were interviewed by the FBI.

People who are identifiably Muslim have been ripping down posters without their faces covered, so spare me the “they’re afraid of being identified” crap. They also have been participating in protests nonstop.

A Jewish synagogue president was killed. A Jewish senator was threatened with her life.

Jews have been beaten up regularly.

So stop acting as though Jews are safe.

Notice how the Jewish synagogue President story disappeared from media. That’s telling. They know

Trump's election was the beginning of the long-term rise in anti-Semitic incidents in the U.S. It's gotten worse every year since Trump's election.

Gee, I wonder why? He made hate and "f#ck your feelings" to thrive in their country, regardless of your political ideology. He made it acceptable to "other" your fellow Americans. Look at 4Chan, thedonald.win, Reddit (r/TheDonald), etc - that's where the newest round of anti-Semitism was normalized and all those little choads were crazy-vocal Trump supporters.

Look at this graphic, the trend is extremely clear. Anti-Semitism was going down throughout Obama administration then get turbo-charged during the Trump years:

Once the genie is out of the bottle, it's nearly impossible to put back in.

This. There have been periods in history where Jews and Muslims lived together relatively peacefully. Then the British came.

Because the police have already said that there's no indication its a hate crime. It's very likely either a domestic abuse case or a random homeless crazy person (because Detroit).

Can you please show us some anti Semitic statements that Trump said? People keep talking about him being antisemitic and I'm interested in his statements about it. Especially since his daughter and grandkids are Jewish.
