GA competition + professional links + elite staff is relatively new in this part of North Carolina. They have A LOT of resources and the leadership to build a powerhouse club in the triad.

lol. the GA hats at it again.

Thanks for noticing ECNL hat! It’s been a minute.

They are eating NC Fusion's lunch - club got complacent and thought the money would flow forever.

I've never seen a GA hat.

I have seen all kinds of ECNL hats.

Lord almighty, nothing is worse than ECNL hat - I have no DD and no dog in this fight but to make and wear a hat branded for your soccer league... I wouldn't wear an NFL hat much less a youth sports league hat.

100% truff but the GA cult will still huff and puff and prance around like the ECNL is on its last leg

New tactic. We don't have to huff and puff any more. We just sit by and wait quietly as the ECNL world slowly looses steam and much like a frog being boiled to death without realizing it, we are just watching the overly confident parents, continue to stay where they are at and say, "everything is fine. This is fine."

I thought this was all a joke until I literally saw a dad at the gas station with an ECNL hat.

They're real and they're spectacular! ( lol of course I'd just laugh at any parent our ECNL sideline wearing one)

At least you have something to match your ECNL headband, underwear, socks, and headband.

A double ECNL headband. Fierce, pure intimidation

The move just proved the case that the most dominant GA clubs are just middle of the pack ECNL clubs. The GA is still a second tier developmental league.

I have no dog in this fight and frankly would prefer to have two competitive options on the girls side, but think this is a little bit of a pipe dream when GA is a girls league and its best selling point is access to a boys league. MLSN may create some hydraulic pressure for GA but GA needs to step up its game in its own right for this to happen. Right now, if ECNL ever feels the pressure they can just let go of the requirement to have both sides in the league. Right now I think they are happy to be smaller and more “elite” (shall we say) while evidence suggests GA is over expanding beyond the talent pool of you look at the disparity from the top to bottom of the tables, at least in the mid-Atlantic. No one want to be in a “national” level league where half your game are uncompetitive blow outs.

Not any different in the ECNL - have you seen some of the teams at the bottom of the table in your league? Put your ECNL hat back on the rack bud.

ECNL has significantly more teams than GA does. Elite yes, but smaller no. There are plenty of trash ECNL teams out there across the country

It seems dumb to make a point that can be refuted with a quick google search. As of February 2026, the Girls Academy (GA) has 129 clubs, while the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) has 121 clubs

2026 Graduating Class:
Total Power 4 Commitments Tracked: 421
-ECNL 312
-GA 74
-FIFA International 32
-USYS 3

ECNL numbers are up from last year. The GA continues it's rise to nowhere. Keep eating the crap your GA club director's are feeding you.
