That’s what the Fairfax Times / Wall Street Journal reporter first reported. It was later picked up by other papers, media.

To be fair, what Asra reported was that he resigned, his last day is officially Dec 2, and that he will be moving abroad with his family so his wife can explore new career opportunities.

I am almost certain that she did not write that he's already fled the country.

This. No one has “fled the country.”

Not sure why you think it isn't. He is moving abroad ~ he is fleeing the country.

"Is fleeing" and "has fled" are two different things.

Don’t lose sight the the Principal and Assistant Superintendent Boyd are the main culprits in this scandal. The DSA was an accomplice but not the architect.

I saw the WJLA report with the distraught Robinson players who never got to play their playoff game they were minutes away from playing. Time heals all wounds as they say, but it’s a shame these seniors still feel really crummy right now. All because of this malfeasance by adult role models and educators. Moreover, one of these role models, who is a retired coach no less, fled overseas with his family to escape the consequences for his cowardly actions.

Robinson football parent here. Our boys were not expecting to even make playoffs but were told at their last regular season game against LB that we were in the playoffs. The boys knew they wouldn't advance past first round but they practiced hard all week only to be told two hours before the first playoff game that they were finished. So the "distraught" players were mostly just pissed about the last minute notice of not being allowed to play and the seniors were especially pissed because they had no closure.

Yes, I work at Hayfield.

Not everyone at Hayfield is of the mindset that this was proper. Hayfield is so much more than this football team and athletics department. We are a very diverse school, no ethnicity group makes up a majority of the population and we have over 50 different home languages spoken by our students and staff.

We are not perfect, but we are not defined by this scandal either.

"We are not perfect, but we are not defined by this scandal either."

Sadly, you are now. It is unfortunate you do not realize that. And frankly you deserve to be. The entire staff is complicit in this. You all knew what was going on, and so many of you decided to do nothing. Had even a small minority spoken up from the outset this all could have been avoided. Shame on you.

Speaking as a teacher at a school where multiple staff have formally complained about the principal and the principal was even investigated by the county and reinstated, this isn’t close to being true. You can see how a district will cover up for their own people- Hayfield staff could’ve complained and voiced this plenty and been completely ignored by the district. That’s how it works.

+100

They've been ingored or reprimanded.

Not sure what happened in your school but the Hayfield staff is complicit and let this happen. If these alleged Federal crimes of homeless students did happen, then the reporting could have gone outside of the school system where these things are properly handled. Short of that, the way things are shaking out, an anonymous tip to the media or VHSL could have moved things along sooner rather than later.

You're an absolute idiot who clearly can't read and comprehend. School staff DID speak about about the transfers and paid dearly. Since you are such a know-it-all you tell me the name of the school admin who was removed from their job. The school principal with the Super present said anyone who brought up the issue would be reprimanded. Again since you are a know-it-all, tell me about this meeting where this happened.

You are so full of shite. People also complained to VHSL. If you actually didn't have your head up your butt you would know about all of this. Prove to me that you do.

Both Reid and the Hayfield administration need to be replaced ASAP. Reid is an abject failure as superintendent and the school will continue to be a laughing stock until new leadership takes over.

Fitting the precise definition of “literally,” he literally fled the country

Oscar Smith vs Madison and Oscar Smith wins. However, every team that can get in Oscar Smith’s way prior to the championship is dangerous and there could be an upset.

There are one or 2 of those teams that Madison could beat, but don’t see them beating Oscar Smith.

I thought December 4 was the next court date about Hayfield’s situation.

It is. The PP is focused on the wrong issue for this thread.
