Apparently the December 4 hearing is off, per Fairfax Times journalist's twitter:

| how can it be moot if the ban was for 2 years? |
I think it means the ban still stands. This litigation stemmed from Hayfraud parents suing to get an injunction for this year's playoffs (which they were able to get) with the Dec 4th hearing to weigh the parents' assertions on their merits. Since Hayfraud principal agreed to voluntarily pull team out of playoffs, sounds like parents are no longer fighting the ban altogether(?).. Those parents were probably all senior parents and therefore couldn't care less what happens in future years. Either way, that tweet makes it sound like ban for next year will still be in place. Which it should be. |
Once principal pulled team knew this would be what happens but I really wish had loved to discovery and depositions to hear the families just hand over more proof to VHSL. No amount of attorney prep would keep them from tripping up. |
If parents had truly believed in their suit they would have added FCPS to the suit and not pulled it. They knew smoke and mirrors and so did Reid and she allowed it. Have zero trust for any letter ever written from Reid. |

Parents pulling lawsuit shows parents knew their lies or they’d still be fighting FCPS too, in addition to VHSL. |
Does this mean the ban is back on? |
Well since Reid is no longer supporting Hayfield, it now would be a conflict of interest for the attorney. The attorney probably dropped the case. |
GTFOH! Almost 200 teachers & 10+ counselors and all are AFRAID of repercussions?!? FCPS HR must be the scum of the earth if that is the case! Why even work at a place like that? I'm beginning to think that FCPS staff just likes to complain about anything & everything with their heads in their butts! WEAK & COMPLICIT! |
|
All the complaints filed by staff were tossed out the window when Dr. Reid cleared Hayfield in August. FCPS did not want to know what was going on at Hayfield. They wanted the “noise” around Hayfield football to go away so they claimed they did an investigation then announced there was nothing to see here.
The bullying of student athletes was not investigated and several of the residency checks came back with reports of still unverified addresses and the that information was withheld from the final reports. This has all been a cover up that they would have got away with if it wasn’t for the county football coaches continuing to push for the truth. |
Wow, pivoting to ad hominem attacks from the jump. Well, when you don't have a leg to stand on, I guess that is all you can do. As was noted by a previous commenter, any teacher who went to their supervisor or HR about this didn't know what they were doing. They should have done what at least a few did from the jump and gone to Asra and other journalists as anonymous sources. That's how you get things done in systems that aren't meritocracies; and no, the public education system is not a meritocracy for those employed within it. So, in short, yes, any teacher that didn't take intelligent steps to make sure word got out about this was complicit. I look forward to your rambling response with yet more ad hominem attacks. |
^^^^^ This. |
| Does anyone know which nine parents filed the suit? |
How can there only be 781 signatures on this petition? |
