It’s a shame because Meghan and Harry could have done so much good as full-time working royals. If only Meghan had given them more time to adjust to being newlyweds and new parents, they could have found their groove.

Who cares? She was a Royal, a position from which she could never be fired. Look at Camilla, she gives the press the figurative middle finger.

The Obamas were compared to primates, too. Guess what? They ignored it and did their jobs.

This was ONE person. If you are a famous person then undoubtedly there will be random people who make cruel comments about you. Do you turn your life upside down every time ONE person says something hurtful to you? Seriously, they need to realize that there are many jerks in the world and being famous will attract them, royal or not. But I guess they will realize that now.

Harry isn't exactly a royal. He is not the direct line and he's only doing appearances to help his grandmother, dad and brother. He's like any other grandchild now that they have a new spare. All the other grandchildren work and have their own lives. Why shouldn't he?

Then she is ill fit for a public role. Heck, even in the private sector you have to grow a tough skin and brush off your detractors and enemies. Michelle Obama brushed off some of the worst press I have ever seen, for a job she didn’t even want to begin with, and focused on doing a fabulous job. Never complained, never explained, never thought if herself as a victim. That’s what makes the Obamas so extremely popular.

She actually complained quite a bit about the job... before, during and after.

It really does come down to the royal rota. As long as they're working royals, they are forced to work exclusively with a small group of papers, half of whom have a financial incentive to tear down Harry and Meghan's reputations. It's that simple.

Now they just have to deal with the disciplined and scrupulous North American paparazzi.

He is a prince and sixth in line for the throne. Chances are, he won’t be king. However, he will always be royal and taken care of by the BRF. Meghan is the only one of their little family that does not have royal blood and can be kicked to the curb.

I also think most of this thread proves that they were right to step away. Posters are so mean and have so much vitr for people they have never met and for someone they don’t even need to support.

If they are happy doing their own thing, so be it. I am not British and don’t need to truly worry about the Monarchy or misuse of public funds.

I think they were right too. They really don't have a place given they are not a direct line to the throne. He is another grandchild and his role is to be the personal assistant and he wanted more in his life. The other grandkids had that opportunity and he should get it too. He deserves to live his own life.

Kate wears jeans when she goes shopping in stores like the average Joe. Not sure that Kate wears jeans to events.

She does, plenty of time, when the venue is appropriate.

In cased you missed it the many times it's already been noted in this thread, they are not allowed to go outside the rota. They are forced to have the rota and only the rota, at their official engagements. They will not be forced to allow the certain tabloids into their events and prohibited from allowing others. Huge difference.
