Prep players are much bigger on average than St Alban's bays. Appears to be a 4"-8" difference.

Their bigger brains and family bank accounts weigh them down...

Lol. The collected net worth of the parents of the Prep kids on the field yesterday is A LOT higher. Guess you don’t look at the last names on the roster. And most of those big kids come from Mater Dei. Which explains the size difference.

You clearly either don’t know anything about real wealth or you haven’t look at the “last names” on the STA roster.

Probably the stupidest debate on this thread, and that is saying a lot.

I have seen an awful lot of folks who drive really nice cars, wear snappy outfits and belong to multiple country clubs not have nearly what they need to retire and keep the house! On the other hand, knew a parent at STA several years back who drove a crappy car and wore clothes from REI's garage. He was a former Wall Street banker who founded a company that he sold to a Fortune 100 company for over $100 million--and, I can assure you that you have used that company's products. You really never know who you are dealing with based on appearances ...

I disagree. Debating who has more privilege between the families of the STA lax team and the GTP lax team is almost as funny as the ML guy's emails.

I pick STA as a wealthier, smarter school. Prep had to rent out all their facilities to keep the lights on. STA is too wealthy and the trustees too smart to fall into that trap.

Games to watch this week?

SSSA vs. Bullis is the biggest one. I think Landon plays STA and Prep plays EHS.

I agree, I also am enjoying this debate

Not surprising but what is surprising and explains the STAtesm is that the score was 10-8 at the end of 3rdQ. STA has a talented first string that can hang with the best teams around. It’s when that first line starts to tucker our that the start to lose badly. STA has no bench. STA is all about the academics and won’t take dumb jocks so they will never have a deep bench.

Prep had a bad third quarter, but in the other three quarters of the game they dominated STA. Their first string may be decent, but not sure they "can hang with the best teams around". That is definitely a big exaggeration. Prep was ahead 6-2 after the first quarter and 8-5 at the half. Being down by 3 to 4 goals for most of the game (besides the 3rd quarter) and loosing by 8 goals does not show they can "hang with the best". Sorry.

Lmao people in this community are such jerks. I'm sending my kids to public school.

What are you even taking about?? Clearly spreading fake and inaccurate news. First of all, everyone knows it is actually incredibly smart to rent out your top of the line facilities so more money can be spent on the students, faculty, and other resources vs spending all that money on upkeep and maintenance. Second, STA rents out their facilities all the time. Outside clubs have practice on the fields, in the gym, and the pool. Not to mention, have you ever been to STA in the summer when it is crawling with Headfirst campers?

When GTP plays STA it is a good story about the underprivileged kids from the poor school rising up to take on the rich kids with all the breaks.

I believe the poster is referring to Prep's severe fiscal woes of not too long ago, which resulted from their aggressive physical facility improvements. By all accounts they were teetering. Not sure what their balance sheet looks like at this point.

I would not judge either prep or STA by anything you read on here. I suspect it’s one middle-aged parent from each of the schools posting this crap. I wished they would both just stop they are mbarrassing their schools.
Anonymous
Actually, I don't think the Prep parent has said anything bad, just defending the lies dished out by a STA parent. Clearly the STA parent(s) is the one who is embarrassing their school.
