It's known that Prep & Bullis recruit - serious question, does Landon do much recruiting for lacrosse or is there a natural pipeline b/c of their lower school and a lot of lacrosse alums send their kids to the school? You don't hear much about Landon recruiting for any sport really, and without the boarding aspect, its not like they have talent coming from other states.

Bullis has not recruited a class since 2025 class. Those days ended with that class and the Dawgs have no pipeline for the future. Prep is not going to be the same once the 2026 class is gone once Hilgy gets his type of players.

What are Hilgy's type of players? Also, didn't answer the question if Landon recruits.

5-2 or 5-3

Actual score was 10-4 PVI over GP but several garbage goals for future jv kids in the last part of the scrimmage.

We looked sharp for the boys first action. PVIs goalie was the difference.

Goals were not kept on the scoreboard - which may explain the varying tallies.

10-4 Final

7-4 late in the 4th when both coaches got kids playing time.

5-3 Halftime

"We".

You're not on the team old man.

Landon does recruit in the sense that Landon coaches will attend practices of some of the club teams and make themselves available to interested parents, but functionally most of the current starters have been in the school for years and the overwhelming majority of the depth players have as well. For Landon, retaining its players in ninth grade from the middle school is often as big of challenge as adding news ones as a small number of players in recent years have left for other schools in ninth or other years.

Honestly most of Landon’s recruiting is done by current Landon dads encouraging other dads from their kids club teams to come to Landon. That’s actually how most of the players that don’t have a previous connection to Landon end up there.

What school wouldn't do it that way?

Is this suppose to be an accomplishment?

Landon doesn’t recruit that many players that start at the school in 9th grade. Some, but not a lot.

What they have done forever is develop the athletes they have into lacrosse players starting in 4th grade. It’s essentially a captive lacrosse academy.

But the Landon alumni and parent group does try to interest good athletes from the neighborhood or youth teams in the school. Athletics are important there and the boosters want to see their teams be successful.

Landon has the best coaching staff in the area
Until someone beats them in the IAC this Spring, they will remain the team to beat.

and hopefully, this Spring, we can see one extra game added to the season that matches the WCAC champion against the IAC champion.

Does anybody know the score of the Good council vs calvert hall scrimmage?

Yes. Much like preseason NFL football games or spring training game, the score was meaningless. It was as scrimmage and pointless to take anything away from it.

I'm pretty certain this is how most schools operate. Current parents at a particular school can exemplify or detract from a prospective family's decision to explore or contact the coach.
