Prince Harry and Meghan in Near Catastrophic Car Chase in NYC

Since Meghan’s mom was there with them, maybe they brought the kids too and didn’t want the paparazzi to know where they were staying to be able to photograph them leaving the next day.

That’s dumb. Super easy to quietly tail then. I’m sure the paps know where they are staying. Doubt they brought the kids. They bring all this on themselves. Just allow a few photos and carry on. I’d rather be photographed for 15 minutes straight back to my hotel than ride around for 2 hours trying to lose them.

When I got in the cab, I would put the mask on so any pics taken would not show expression. Any surgical mask should fix the problem and everyone can relate to wearing one now especially in NYC transit.

Bingo! Add sunglasses and the pics would be worthless. Ride in the security vans with tinted windows and there’d be no pics. This is a very fixable problem, if only they wanted to fix it.

Well that's the point. They wouldn't have the drama if they did the reasonable thing.

The raised eyebrow to MM is her being American and an actress, and also her odd family relationships. Not her ethnic heritage. Harry is his own drummer so it's all good, but I think that questions about her joining "the royal family" and subsequent events are more about American celebrity culture fit with ancient royalty than anything.

Can't believe this is the top article at the NYTimes: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/17/nyregion/harry-meghan-car-chase.html. And Harry/Meghan are being excoriated in the comments... at the Times. Obviously, no one believes the story.

Are they the most popular celebrities ever? What others are doing that they aren't? Do they need more protection than leaders of free world?

Because she’s half Black, and she married a white prince who was known to be a very popular and in-demand bachelor.

They’re mad.

The Prince and his wife are entertainment, period.

Y’all are mad. You know it, we all know it.

Is Jimmy Kimmel mad? How about Chris Rock? The Sussexes are the gift that keeps on giving.

What is your point? They aren’t jealous basic white women. So, no, they aren’t mad. They’re comedians.

What is your point? We are not jealous basic white women either.

My point: Basic white women are jealous because half Black Meghan married popular white prince Harry.

Keep up.

I always thought she was Afro-Latina on Suits. I was so surprised when her Suits "dad" appeared. She looks seriously Dominican.

No she doesn't. You are also clearly not Dominican. Meghan puts a lot of heat in her hair to straighten it. She has a straight up afro otherwise. Google it.

Yes , but she wears it straight all the time Lots of Dominican women (and women of other backgrounds including the Shoshanna's) have that look.

Honestly, that's the whole thing. Every element in this ridiculous story is, like, timed and produced for maximum visibility. However do other celebrities get around NYC? It's not their first time there, either. Every decision they made there was stupid. What is their professional security doing? Getting into cabs with them? Stupid.

Yikes. This makes the Daily Mail comments section look tame.

Lots of people believe the first version of whatever story goes around or whatever headline gets put out first or whatever clip goes viral. If it confirms your biases, you tend to believe it without too much thought or question.

Publicity business isn't where one can completely control their exposure and choreograph a perfect filtered image. However, celebrities have a right to try to have their cake and eat it too.

Which they did. They told the taxi driver to return to the hotel and got into the security SUV. That’s what the taxi driver says in his interview. Your hatred is misplaced this time.

Incredulous laughter isn't hatred, friend. These two are endless entertainment.

I didn't see it. It says page not found. Most threads with negative comments about them get locked or deleted.

These two want to be taken seriously but they make it impossible to do so.
