I was wondering about their total lack of coverage. |
I am one of those DCUM haters but this made me laugh. |
The story has a lot of holes in it and it makes me want to ask a lot of questions. The main one being is it even possible to have a two hour high speed chase around NYC? Anyone who's driven in NYC knows it's impossible. And I do have to ask who would spend two hours chasing after someone to take their photos? I've never heard of a paparazzi pursuing a celebrity for two hours. Two hours is, you know, a long time! And Harry and Meghan also had police protection with them the whole time? So what exactly went on?

I live in NYC and used to live in midtown. There is no way there were on a 2-hour care chase on those streets. Meghan wants her Diana moment but to have a fake “near miss” with the wall of a tunnel. |
Yes, of course he can't pay the police while they are working, they are already getting paid. If they moved back to England, they would get regular protection. This sounds a bit like the complaint that baby Archie wasn't allowed to have his own bodyguard and was only allowed to have the Sussex family bodyguards. Doubling protection doesn't make you safer, it makes you less safe because then people are interfering with each other, there are issues with command, etc. |
CNN described it as blacked-out vehicles, motorcycles, and scooters. Like a flash mob. |
I’m on a different NYC board and posters there noted that nothing about a car chase or strange speeding traffic showed up at all on the UES or midtown on their Citizen apps, which a lot of people here are still very into and attuned to.
They are lying. But their fans are very credulous people |
There’s not a peep about this in any of the UK tabloids. |
Oh this makes me miss urban baby so much. There would be an epic thread featuring many posters who were in midtown at the time. What NYC board is still alive? Tell me!! |
they're such attention whoring liars. Nothing about this is true. I really wish they would go away. Thought they wanted peace and quiet? Nope, clearly not. |
“Multiple quick stops to avoid hitting the car in front of them, multiple fast maneuvers around other vehicles, and other traffic violations” ummmm have they never been in a cab in NY before much less midtown? This sounds like every cab ride I’ve ever taken in downtown or midtown Manhattan |
Google “why be mom”! Not sure if a link is allowed but that’ll get you there. It’s mostly middle-aged moms in NYC and the tristate- Harry and Meghan have fans there but even most of them are very very skeptical. I like to scan NY Post and Page Six (judge away, it’s all tacky) and their coverage of Meghan has skyrocketed since the coronation. WME is very hard at work; it’s a striking difference. |
YES. Why would you continue for two hours?? Use a cell phone that one of them surely had to call for help and pull over at the first safe space. |
I seriously doubt the NYC paps cares enough to chase them for a full 2 hours. That’s ridiculous. And what they describe sounds like a normal cab ride in Manhattan but with people taking their picture. Telling that this gruesome account was given only by their spokesperson and the alleged police spokesperson only admitted that there were traffic violations, etc. |
I think it's more split. At least among young people, it's more they're not liked, but the rest of the royals are viewed in an even more negative light. Under 50 have a majority opposed to monarchy, and under 25 flat out prefer a republic |
