It didn’t stop in 2016. The whole time Trump was belly aching about politically motivated investigations, he was running a politically motivated investigation. I’m sure all our resident FBI critics will be right by to voice their outrage at Trumps abuses.

No worries. The FBI has now destroyed all evidence they had regarding any Hillary investigations.

Oh look, the Trumpers are just fine with politically motivated investigations so long as they target people they don't like.

Actually, I am more interested in why the FBI looked the other way when it came to Clinton but not Trump.
After all, it was the Clinton campaign actually working with Russians.

as you were saying...

Nice try.
As long as the FBI has an "open" investigation, then Congress is unable to access the evidence. They had an ulterior motive.
Interesting that the evidence has now been destroyed by the FBI.

That open investigation was during the entire Trump Administration when Trump appointee Chris Wray oversaw the FBI. Are you saying Chris Wray, the Koch Brother supported former congressman, isn't part of the GOP infrastructure?

Meanwhile this Friday the first IRS whistleblower will testify behind closed doors on Capitol Hill. This right after another senior IRS investigator came forward just yesterday.

Unfortunately, Chris Wray is not the man for the job. He seems like a nice enough guy, and not nearly as arrogant or self-absorbed as Comey, but he has been unable to enact the changes that need to be made to make the FBI a reputable organization. He has too many SACs and ASACs under his command that are either incompetent, corrupt, or so biased that they don't do their jobs. It has become an organization in that the only ones who get promoted are the ones who tout the accepted narrative. Every press release put out by his office talks about the changes that have been made in order to prevent [insert latest scandal here], but yet the scandals and the issues continue.
Wray needs to go.

It's always something with everyone. Wray's not the right man for the job, Comey is too arrogant. Everybody's wrong. Except for Trump.

I think everyone has had their eyes opened to the issues with Comey. He was a disaster and the #1 reason the FBI has lost credibility today.
Wray doesn't seem like a bad guy. Just not terribly competent in this role. We need someone who will take control AND take accountability for the bureau. Wray has done neither.

I think people have lost perspective on this. The FBI has historically been very susceptible to political influence.

Deflection. The Koch Brother guy isn't Trump enough so we need someone else.

Give it up, the GOP has been in charge of the FBI for years, and had 2017-2021 to charge Hillary with something...anything...and didn't.

Maybe she actually has not committed any crimes?

I mean seriously, at some point, you have to look at the information you have been getting for decades and come to realize that perhaps you have been lied to.

Translation: We need someone who will prosecute Democrats over manufactured investigations, and let Republicans get away with actual crimes.

There has literally never been a director of the FBI appointed by a Democrat.

Didn’t Bill Clinton appoint Louis Freeh?

So?

They should both be locked in a dank cell somewhere and never heard from again. They’re not whistle blowers they’re politically motivated troublemakers. No credibility at all. They should go to prison for life.
